Find a position where your body can be fully supported.
It doesn't need to hold itself up right now.
Let your eyes close or soften your gaze downward.
Take one breath,
However it wants to come.
And notice,
Without changing anything yet,
What's here.
Maybe there's a tightness in the chest.
Maybe the jaw is holding something.
This is just information.
Your body,
Keeping a log of everything it's carried today,
This week,
Longer.
You don't have to fix it.
You just have to notice it's there.
We're going to work directly with the nerve that runs from the base of your brain down through your throat,
Past your heart,
Into your gut.
The vagus nerve.
It's the wiring behind your sense of safety.
Breathe in through the nose for a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold gently at the top for one.
And release slowly through the mouth for a count of 6 6 5 4 3 2 1.
Longer exhale than inhale.
That's the signal.
That's what tells the body the danger has passed.
Let's do that two more times at your own pace and through the nose.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And a long,
Slow release out.
6,
5,
4.
3.
.
.
2.
.
.
Now,
If you're somewhere you can make a small sound,
Let's try something else.
On your next exhale.
Low and easy.
Whatever pitch comes naturally.
Feel that hum in your throat,
Maybe your chest.
That vibration runs along the same nerve we're working.
If it's available to you.
Let your head turn slowly to the right.
And slowly back to center.
Then to the left.
And back to center.
Notice what's different,
Even slightly,
From when we started.
Maybe the breath is a little looser.
Maybe the shoulders dropped half an inch you didn't plan for.
The state settled breathing,
No longer bracing is available to you.
Not just in theory.
In your actual body.
Right now.
This is a place you can return to.
Somewhere your body already knows how to find.
Because it just found it.
When you're ready.
No rush.
Let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
And when it feels right.
Let your eyes open.
Whatever's next for you today.
You get to carry this with you.
Just as something.
You now know how to come back to.
