Sharing with you and your family a beautiful easy to follow meditation that you can do with your child or with your family.
I recommend ages 3 plus for this one and we can come to sit or we can lay together.
So get yourself situated to either lay down side by side in a space that is free of any visual or sound distractions.
Somewhere calm and quiet within your space.
Or you can sit side by side in a cross legged position and also a space that is calm and quiet for your family.
As you come to sit or lay let your body feel rested on the ground and if you're seated let your spine get nice and tall.
Let's all take a deep breath in together and a deep breath out.
Doesn't it feel good to just sit and breathe together?
Let's try it again.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
You're doing a really good job sitting tall and breathing.
Try it one more time.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Now see if you can close your eyes and I know that can be challenging.
But try to close your eyes and sit up nice and tall as you follow your breathing in and follow your breathing out.
And imagine that you and your family or you and your parent are going to take a visit with a dolphin into the ocean.
So imagine that you are a little starfish laying on the tail of a dolphin.
And as you breathe into your starfish you feel it stick to the dolphin's tail.
And this dolphin is going to take you on a journey into the ocean.
And this dolphin will make sure that you're safe and that you're protected and help you stay right on its tail as you journey into the ocean.
So take a deep breath into your starfish and a deep breath out.
And let's begin to float on the tail of your dolphin as you journey down into the deep blue ocean.
As you go down into the ocean notice the colors of the ocean.
Notice the colors of all the coral and all the different kinds of fish that you see swimming beside you.
Notice the shapes of these fish.
And see that the dolphin is taking you down and down and down to see all the coral around you.
And see everything that rests underneath the ocean.
And now the dolphin swims you all the way to a box in the depth of the ocean that has your name on it.
The dolphin collects the box for you and together you start to float up and up and up and up.
Until you feel yourself move to the top of the ocean and you feel the sun on your starfish.
And your dolphin swims you all the way back to the side of the beach.
And as you get to the beach you slide off your dolphin and your starfish slides off and you take a deep breath in.
And now you arrive at the beach and you stay at the beach.
You stay with your magic box.
You stay resting here feeling the sun on your body and even imagining what your magic box has inside.
You thank the dolphin for the journey and you rest with your magic box.
And you enjoy and think of what the magic box has inside for you.
And now you begin to open your magic box and see that it has a special power just for you.
A power such as kindness or love or giving.
A unique power that is only yours and that you're really good at giving.
See if you can open your eyes and take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
And now maybe you and your family can discuss what this magical power that you got from your secret box is.
