Hello loves. Welcome to my heart. This is my reading of a piece I wrote called I Showed Her My Rage. A piece about our shared experiences with Mother Earth and how she is always there to hold us. I write poetry to make sense of how I feel, or what I experience, as I make my way through this life. What my poetry means to me may be very different from what it means to you. Such is the beauty of art. I hope it touches you, in the way you need to be touched, in this very moment. From my heart to yours.

Today,

I went to a powerful women's circle.

And within that space,

We allowed ourselves to be seen.

There was grief.

There was rage.

A shamanic dance of the feminine.

Afterwards,

I took myself to the ocean to cleanse the powerful energies of that space.

The ocean was not calm and peaceful as she had been the day before.

She was raging with the wind,

Her faithful companion.

I strode into the depths of her waters,

And we danced.

I showed her my rage,

And she showed me hers.

We wrestled.

We tussled.

Each fully in our power.

Each allowing the other to be seen.

To be felt.

To be held in each other's arms as two powerful forces of nature.

I showed her my grief,

And she showed me hers.

It hurts.

We roared.

She showed me her power,

And I unleashed my own.

Each safe in the knowledge that we were in this together.

She spat in my mouth,

And I spat in hers.

She roared,

Give it all to me.

I can take it.

I feel you,

And I understand.

And so,

I did.

I smiled in recognition,

In gratitude,

As I left her powerful clutches.

Thankful of the reminder that we are in this together.
