Hello beautiful souls. Welcome to my heart. This is my reading of my poem Ego Death that I wrote following a very intense Kundalini awakening. I write poetry to make sense of, express, and capture how I feel, in any given experience, as I make my way through this life. Some of the things I experience in life can be very hard to logically explain, but poetry doesn't need, and has never needed, to be logical. What my poetry means to me may be very different to what it means to you. Such is the beauty of art. I hope it touches you, in the way you need to be touched, in this very moment. From my heart to yours. Namaste.

My mind desperately wanted to understand,

To make sense of it all.

It kicked,

And it screamed,

Wanting to survive,

Needing everything to make sense again.

Its sense of self dismantled and scattered into a million pieces,

And it tried to hold on to all it had known,

Clinging on to every belief structure,

Every concept,

Every story,

As its whole world collapsed around it.

Time.

It needed time.

And then,

One day,

It let go.

It softened.

It relaxed,

No longer feeling under threat.

It released its grip,

Laying down beneath the birch tree,

Embracing the truth.

It stared with awe and amazement at the starry night sky.
