Hello beautiful souls. Welcome to my heart. This is my reading of my poem And Still I Rage. I write poetry to make sense of, express, and capture how I feel, in any given experience, as I make my way through this life. Some of the things I experience in life can be very hard to logically explain, but poetry doesn't need, and has never needed, to be logical. What my poetry means to me may be very different from what it means to you. Such is the beauty of art. I hope it touches you, in the way you need to be touched, in this very moment. From my heart to yours.

Still.

I rage.

I throw my head back.

Roaring like a lion.

Teeth bared.

Ridiculous.

Laughable.

A big cosmic joke.

Roaring at myself.

That raging at that.

I open my eyes.

I see the moon and she smiles at me.

And I smile back.

My husband of 50 years died 12 months and 9 days ago. Today a huge wave of blind rage came over me and no amount of mindfulness, breathing or rationalization did the least to quell it. I stumbled upon this and listened to it back to back multiple times. Though still quite angry, I no longer feel homicidal. Thank you so very much
