Hi,

This is Johnson Chong,

The author of Sage Sapien,

From Karma to Dharma.

The following is a piece of poetry that can be used as a guided meditation.

You can either be seated upright on a chair,

Or you could sit on a cushion,

Or perhaps even lay down on your back.

Make yourself comfortable and get set up,

And once you're ready,

Take deep breaths in and out,

And simply receive.

The Open Field In my dreams,

There is an open field I go to rest.

There are no doors to enter.

It is the silent chords of my heart that call me there.

There are no roads or paths to travel.

It is in the simple act of surrendering to my soul's longing to connect,

That settles me in this journeyless place.

There's nothing to do.

No one to be.

No arduous mountain to climb.

There is only an all-pervasive expansion into gratitude.

Gratitude for how effortlessly uncomplicated it all actually is.

The way sunlight melts into the blades of grass.

The sweet smell of your love for me,

Drawn in through the misty morning dew.

The cold embrace of the northerly winds enveloping me in a wave of letting go.

A process of purifying the layers and layers of untrue beliefs.

In my dreams,

There is an open field I go to be,

As I simply was designed to be,

Without the label of him or her.

The assigned roles of masculine and feminine expectations.

A space without opposition.

In this field,

I can play as I was designed to play.

I can laugh at the sky,

Frolic in the mud,

And dance in the sea,

Naked of everything I thought I was supposed to be.

Naked to touch the purity of my ecstasy.

In this field,

I can writhe and squirm in pleasurable joy without the shackles of shame on my feet.

I can revisit my innocence and befriend them through an assuring gaze that all is well.

In my dreams,

There is an open field I go to love,

And to be loved.

My tender heart sings to the rhythm of your heart.

Each of us a mirror of all that which gave birth to the elephant-shaped clouds.

We picnic under the stars,

And talk about who we want to become in perfect silence.

In perfect silence.

A soulful exchange of gazing into the eye of our great Creator's intent.

In my dreams,

There is an open field I go to feel the full range of my being.

I feel into the moments when I felt separate,

Abandoned by the circle of support that in actuality had always been there.

In this open field,

The very nature of openness dissolves any attachment to the notion of my confusion or feeling lost.

Even in the temporary obsession with separateness,

I am compelled to seek connection to that which was perceived to have abandoned me.

I soon discover I was never lost,

And I will never truly be lost.

For in this open field,

There are no gateways protected under lock and key.

There are no prisons and prisoners.

There is only the access to the vastness of infinite potential.

In my dreams,

In this open field,

I create.

I create the world in my image.

I create the image of who I want to become.

For the heart of creation flows through my heart in this cosmic play of giving and receiving.

And so I choose to give as much as I receive and receive as much as I give.

I am selfishly selfless as nature intended it to be.

I am the hungry lion prowling the grasslands rightfully claiming my place.

At the same time,

I am the aging antelope returning my borrowed body back to source,

Born to die,

Eat to be eaten in this beautiful circle of life.

In this open field,

I know this wisdom,

And I become it.

Through this knowing,

I shatter the fabric of space and time.

The me from before and the me not yet come unify in an explosive collision into presence.

An omni-conscious and timeless unfolding of awareness collapses all judgments I had,

All expectations I had of me and of you.

All the beliefs that weren't even mine evaporate into the nothingness from which they came.

All that is left is absolute bliss.

Bliss wants nothing,

To become nothing.

This bliss simply exists in every patch and secret corners of this open field.

I am bliss.

I am bliss.

I am bliss.

Inhale,

Breathe this bliss in.

Exhale,

Let everything go.

Inhale,

Breathe this bliss in.

Exhale,

Let everything go.

Continue breathing this bliss deeply in.

On the exhalations,

Practice letting go of any belief,

Any perception of what is supposed to be.

In this field of bliss,

There is no room for right and wrong.

There is only what is.

In the next three minutes,

Continue to breathe this bliss in.

Savor the simplicity and deliciousness of this breath.

I am bliss.

Silently repeat that in the heart with each inhale and with each exhale.

Exhale,

Breathe this bliss in.

Exhale,

Breathe this bliss in.

Exhale,

Breathe this bliss in.

Slowly move the fingers and the toes,

Finding slow,

Gentle movements.

Gently rock the head from side to side.

And whenever you are ready,

Slowly return to the body and come back to the room.

I thank you for your time and commitment to taking care of yourself.

Until next time,

Have a beautiful day.
