Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8-week Course

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week course which empowers participants to cultivate mindfulness and acceptance towards themselves and others, and break cycles of anxiety and stress. Each week involves teaching, meditation, and the opportunity for reflection in the transformative setting of a safe, small group. Widely considered to be the "gold standard" for mindfulness courses, MBSR was first developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts in the 1970s. It has since been proven to reduce anxiety and pain, and improve sleep, concentration and empathy. Ryan is a certified MBSR and Search Inside Yourself teacher, who leads a range of mindfulness courses and workshops in Hong Kong and on Insight Timer. This course is fantastic for both beginner and advanced meditators.


Students will...

This learning experience includes:

  • 8 weeks of live, online 2.5 hour sessions

  • Day-long at-home retreat and guided meditations for at-home practice on 24th April

  • Online course materials

  • Certification of completion (as MBSR can be a prerequisite for other mindfulness courses)

  • 1 x 30-minute consult with Ryan before the start of the workshop series

Ryan Grimes

Ryan is a teacher of secular mindfulness. Ryan's approach to teaching mindfulness is wholly inclusive, making the topic approachable to everyone, regardless of religion or belief. The techniques used in his teachings are based on focusing on the present moment through the vehicle of the five senses and the breath. Subtopics include cultivating compassion for self and others through intentionally shifting attitudes.
