Take a position that supports awareness and begin to experience the body and breath settling feeling your body and the earth body holding you.
Bring awareness to the breath moving through your body.
Entering and exiting.
Connecting with air.
Air moving in.
Air moving through.
Air moving out.
Feel the sensation of breathing.
Take a few moments to rest in the ever-presence of earth and air,
Always with you,
Always present time.
We begin this meditation contemplating phrases of wise care.
As I share the phrases,
Notice how your body is responding.
Notice when you are experiencing resistance or constriction.
Where you sense recognition or affirmation.
Notice if images,
Emotions,
Or impulses arise and when you tune in or when you return to listening.
As I share the phrases,
Notice what's happening with kind regards.
So take a few moments to breathe here.
As I offer these phrases.
May I see the world with quiet eyes.
May I offer my care without hesitation.
Knowing I may be met with gratitude,
Anger,
Or resistance.
May I find the inner resources to sincerely contribute where needed.
May I remain peaceful.
And let go of fixation.
I care about the pain of others,
Yet I cannot control what happens.
May I offer care knowing I don't control the course of life,
Suffering,
Or death.
I care for all beings,
But my way is not the only way.
All beings have their own journey,
And I have mine.
May I offer my support knowing that what I offer may be of great benefit,
Some benefit,
Or even no benefit.
May I be free from fixed preferences and prejudice.
May I bear witness to things just as they are.
May I see the world.
With quiet eyes.
Notice the movement between the heart opening and closing and welcome both the resistance and its release.
As it is experienced in the body.
Continue to practice in this way,
Repeating the phrases slowly and quietly.
You may create phrases of your own or simply rest in silence.
Notice the quality of heart and mind that is present.
And rest in whatever silence,
Stillness,
And solace that is here now.
