Welcome,
You've found a soft place for fear to rest.
Take a breath with me.
It doesn't have to be deep or perfect.
Just one that reminds you that you're still here.
You've come because fear has found you again.
And you're not alone.
Every human on this earth knows this place.
This trembling,
Tightening too muchness But now we're going to meet fear differently.
Softly,
Gently,
Truthfully.
Without shame.
Without pressure.
Without pretending.
You should be unafraid.
Let's begin right where you are.
Let your body shift.
Just a little into something more comfortable.
It doesn't have to be serene,
Just a little softer.
Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly.
Feel the warmth of your own touch.
Let your body hear,
I am here.
And now let your shoulders drop by 1mm.
Let your jaw loosen a little.
Let your eyes soften in their sockets.
Like they're finally allowed to stop scanning the world.
Take a gentle breath in.
And out.
Fear relaxes.
When we breathe.
Naturally.
You are afraid because your brain is trying to protect you.
Not because you're weak.
Not because you're broken.
But because protection is its oldest job.
Fear can be made of memories.
Of moments you had to survive alone.
Of losses you didn't see coming.
Of times you weren't held in the way you needed.
Of shocks that left marks you still feel in the dark.
But it isn't only your past.
It's the world we live in.
Let this world just load fast,
Demanding and overwhelming.
Fear is sold to you every day.
Fear in the news fear in social media,
Fear hidden behind comparisons.
Fear and the questions Why aren't I coping like everyone else?
Life asks too much of the human nervous system.
To do more,
Be more,
Hold more,
Manage more,
Stay strong.
No wonder you're exhausted.
No wonder your chest feels tight.
No wonder your mind races at night.
And for many,
Fear lives in the future.
And right now,
In this moment,
You are here.
You're not dramatic.
You're not overreacting.
You are human in a world moving far too fast.
For tender creatures like us.
Take another breath.
In your own time.
In a nose.
And breathe as gently.
As you can.
While I tell you something about fear.
Fear is not your enemy.
Fear is a protector,
Loyal,
Ancient,
Watchful.
A little over-fired perhaps,
But almost always acting out of love.
Whispers worst case scenarios Because it believes it must prepare you Tightens your chest because it thinks danger is near wake you in the night because it learned long ago that night time was when you were most unprotected.
Beer is not trying to punish you.
Is trying to keep you alive.
With old information.
Old Memories.
The old version of you.
Instead of pushing fear away.
We're going to give it something it has never been given.
Understanding and permission to race.
Imagine beside you a soft cushion.
A resting space for the part of you that has held guard for so long.
I now speak to your fear gently,
Inwardly.
I understand you.
I know why you're here.
You've been trying to protect me.
Feel the warmth beneath your palms.
Feel the breath deepen on its own.
Now see it's okay to rest.
I am able to soften and soothe now You don't have to protect me so hard.
You're allowed to rest.
Take as long as you need.
Fear hasn't usually heard this from you,
Not like this,
Not with softness,
Not with compassion,
Permission.
Take another breath.
Feel gravity holding your weight.
Let yourself lean into the support beneath you.
Let your body know,
I don't have to brace right now.
Your protector can put down its armor.
Gorgeous now.
You are safe.
In this breath.
You are safe in the next.
And when fear rises again.
You can return to this place and whisper I understand you.
You're allowed to raise.
This is your soft sanctuary of remembering.
Rest knowing you're not alone.
Not in the dark.
Not in trembling,
Not in fear.
You're returning to yourself.
