Sometimes children's thoughts become scattered and at times overwhelming. This guided meditation helps focus their minds by asking them to draw a mental picture of their favorite things. By doing so, it also evokes joy and peace, enabling them to access those feelings both within the meditation and any time they are in need of focus, or heart-centered joyous energy.

Hello,

Friend.

I know sometimes your thoughts can just be too much.

All of them jumbled in your brain,

Taking up space.

You get all mixed up and unfocused and it's hard to concentrate.

In this meditation,

What I'm hoping to help you do is focus,

Focus all those thoughts on one thing and one thing that brings you so much joy.

So I want you to find a comfortable position for you.

Whatever that is on the floor,

On a chair,

On your bed.

Just find that comfortable position and sit there and get comfortable.

Take three deep breaths,

Filling your lungs and your belly and getting all of that air out.

Then you can breathe normally like you always do.

Now I want you to think of something that makes you happy.

Picture it in your mind.

Anything that makes you happy,

One thing like face smiling and heartwarmingly happy.

It can be anything.

Do you have that in your mind now?

Now in your mind,

I want you to picture a white piece of paper right next to your favorite object.

Beside that are markers in every color there is.

What I want you to draw on the white piece of paper is your object.

I want you to draw your favorite thing using any color and all the colors you want.

So in your mind's eye,

I want you to pick your first color and begin to draw your favorite thing.

Add more color and more and more detail.

Make it yours.

If your mind wanders,

That's okay.

Pretend to put your thoughts into a bubble and just pop them.

Then go back to your drawing.

Pick up another color if you want.

Keep drawing.

Keep adding detail to your favorite object.

When you're done,

Look at it and smile.

You have made what you love even better because you drew it your way.

I want you to soak up all that goodness.

I will leave you with your creation and your joy.

I'll leave the music on and come back in a few minutes.

So You You Now when you're ready take a deep breath in and out And begin to come back to the present moment Remember dear one Whenever you need that heart boost today come back to your drawing Visualize it in your mind's eye and take a few deep breaths in Enjoy your favorite thing Enjoy how you made it better Just like everything dear one you make it better
