Thanks for joining me today.
Before we dive in,
Let's ground ourselves a little bit.
Take a deep breath in and hold it and let it go.
Relax your shoulders,
Relax your chest.
Today,
We'll explore the journey from living entirely for ourselves to connecting with the greater whole.
This is an opportunity to reflect on our shared humanity,
To awaken to the reality that we are deeply connected to everything around us.
Gently bring to mind the ways you focus on yourself in daily life.
There's no judgment here,
Just observation.
Think about your day.
Notice the thoughts,
Actions,
Or habits that revolve around your needs,
Your survival,
Your plans.
Imagine that self-focus is a small wave on the ocean.
You see it moving,
Rising,
And falling.
But it's still part of the vast ocean beneath it.
Breathe in deeply,
Feeling the wave rise.
Breathe out and let the wave sink back into the vast ocean.
Let's do it again.
Breathe in deeply,
Feeling the wave rise.
Breathe out and let it sink back into the ocean.
I want to invite you to reflect on what disconnection feels like and then we'll reflect on what connection feels like.
So bring to mind a time when you or someone else was completely focused on their own needs at the expense of others.
What did that feel like?
Did it create a sense of isolation and disconnection?
What does it feel like to be isolated?
To be disconnected?
It's okay to observe and to feel this.
Let's take a cleansing breath.
Now gently shift your awareness to the opposite,
A time when you felt deeply connected to others.
Perhaps it was through a conversation,
A shared experience,
Or even silence with someone or in a group that you trust.
What feelings emerge from that?
Is there warmth and ease that connection brings?
Breathe in connection and breathe out disconnection.
Now let's move to another example or use of our imagination.
This is one of my favorites.
Imagine you're standing in a forest.
Around you are trees.
Their branches are intertwined.
Light is streaming through them.
Try and feel the energy of connection,
The roots below,
The canopy above,
The air that you share with them.
Now picture yourself as a branch on the tree.
You're not separate.
You're part of the whole.
As a branch,
You reach out to the sunlight.
Your leaves absorb water and light that help to feed the tree.
The tree sustains you and in turn you add to the tree's beauty and strength.
As you sit with this image,
Know that just as the branch belongs to the tree,
You belong to the greater whole.
Take a moment and place your hand on your heart.
Feel the rhythm of your breath and life moving within you.
And consider this,
What's good for your soul is good for the whole.
When you make choices that align with your true self,
Your deeper values,
Your truest intentions,
You're living in harmony with the greater whole.
Be open to an invitation.
On top of that,
Ask yourself gently,
What is one step that I can take to live for my soul today?
Again,
Let the answer come naturally,
Without force.
Trust that your soul knows the way.
Know that you're not alone.
You're part of something much larger,
Connected,
Supported,
And whole.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Return to the world with this awareness of connection,
Carrying it with you into your day.
Thank you for participating today.
Take good care.
