When I was born,
I donned a spacesuit for living on this plane.
It was this body.
My spacesuit.
And it had a steering mechanism,
Which is my prefrontal lobe,
And all the brain that helps with the coordinating and stuff.
Just like those others who go to the moon and learn to use their spacesuit,
How to grab things and lift things.
So I learned how to do that.
And then you get rewarded with little stars,
Kisses,
And all kinds of things when you learn how to use your spacesuit.
You get so good at it that you can't differentiate yourself from your spacesuit.
Ram Dass.
Let's take a moment to get settled into a comfortable position.
On the floor or on a chair,
Just be sure to sit in a way that your spine can be long and upright.
Try to eliminate all distractions.
Breathing in slowly through the nose and exhaling through the mouth,
Taking this moment to slow down to relax into this calm and nurturing space.
Continue to breathe at a gentle and comfortable rate.
Whatever feels natural to you.
Know thyself,
The soul,
Underlying all of the names and titles you were given or achieved.
Knowing our truest self,
The purest essence of our unique expression will help us be present in each moment.
Allowing ourselves to observe and become more aware instead of reacting from our emotions.
To know our highest self,
We must look deep within.
To find the motivation behind our actions,
We must expose our shadows in order to heal them.
We must accept what our true nature is without judgment.
We must accept our desires,
Our motivation,
Our own sense of peace and happiness.
Are you doing what makes you happy?
If you're not,
How can you get closer to making your dreams a reality?
Are you making your own choices?
Or do you tend to defer to others' suggestions and projections?
Let us open our hearts and accept who we are,
Who we truly are,
Inside our spacesuits,
The consciousness that inhabits this body.
Let us give thanks to the soul inside that has brought us to this moment.
Allowing us to be present,
To slow down and to awaken the inner self.
Understanding that who we were a year ago,
A month ago,
Yesterday or even five minutes ago,
Doesn't mean we are still that person.
Knowing that we are meant to change,
To grow,
To evolve and transcend.
Let us be grateful to have this moment to look within and to have the understanding that all we must do to truly know thyself is to be present with our breath and allow our truth and expression to be felt,
Seen and heard.
Let us remember throughout the rest of our day and night to accept ourselves for who we are and act from a place of our highest self.
To be a benefit to ourselves and all those we affect.
As we bring our attention back to our body,
Gently moving our fingers and toes,
Slowly opening the eyes,
Entering back into this space,
Becoming familiar with our surroundings,
Bringing our hands to our chest in the prayer position,
Sealing this meditation with respect,
Love and light.
Namaste.
