Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.
I'm Richard Willis and my voice will guide you in this stress bucket meditation.
A chance to calm the mind and reflect on how to control your stress levels.
So make yourself comfy and just simply allow my voice to go with you.
First close your eyes and begin with a deep breath in and a long breath out.
Let the breathing then settle into its own natural rhythm and allow the body to relax,
Feeling into the surface underneath.
Breath relaxing and just let the mind relax as well and imagine now in your mind's eye a bucket.
A bucket that contains all your stress that can build up and collect over time and at the bottom is a tap that can be turned on to empty the stress from the bucket.
Now think of the things that fill up your stress bucket.
Work,
Chores,
Arguments,
Mistakes,
Accidents,
Change,
Busyness.
Just mentally note what fills it up the most as sometimes just being aware of this can help.
Now remember the tap at the bottom of the bucket.
Think about what helps you to empty the bucket.
Things that relax you or bring you joy.
Sports,
Reading,
Art,
Music,
Nature,
Meditation,
Hanging out with people,
Hanging out with your pets.
Take a moment to reflect on what relieves you the most and as you bring these things to mind imagine your stress bucket emptying.
See it,
Hear it,
Feel the relief knowing that no matter how full the bucket becomes you have the means to empty it,
To ease the pressure,
To relax.
Let it all flow out allowing you to feel lighter,
More calm,
More free.
Take a few moments to enjoy this relaxed feeling.
Well done.
Now open your eyes,
Bring your awareness fully back into your surroundings,
Into the present moment knowing that you can always ease your pressures by taking the time to empty your stress bucket by investing in relaxation and joy.
