Hello and welcome to this short meditation to the relaxing sound of rain.
A brief break in your day to settle the mind with the peaceful sounds of nature.
To begin,
Find yourself somewhere fairly quiet and get into a comfortable sitting position.
Let the body settle and know that you can take some moments now to let go of thoughts of the day,
The past,
The future.
You can rest your awareness on this present moment.
So let your eyes close and take a deep breath in through the nose and let a long breath out.
Take another deep breath like this,
Then let your breathing settle into its own natural rhythm and become more aware of the sounds of nature.
Rest your attention on the sounds of rain.
With each moment,
You can imagine your own residual tension being released with the rain,
Nature's release.
Maybe your mind drifts to visualizing a rainy scene,
Maybe in a forest,
A field,
Somewhere that the rain makes rich with life.
Seeing its colors,
Its surroundings,
Watching to the rhythm of the rain.
With each passing moment,
Letting the mind be more and more content with simply listening,
Allowing you to go deeper into relaxation,
The pitter patter of rain,
Soothing you,
Cleansing you,
Calming you.
Take a few silent moments now to fully relax to the rain.
Well done.
Now bring your awareness to the normal feelings of the body and open your eyes into the present moment,
Into your surroundings,
Bringing with you all those feelings from nature's soothing
