A pre-enduring surgery meditation.

Settling in with your eyes softly open or gently closed now.

Welcoming yourself into this present moment.

Senses open to the environment and sounds around you.

The touch of air on your skin.

Sensations where your body's touching the surfaces that are supporting it.

Feeling yourself as a warm-hearted,

Witnessing presence.

Setting attention free to wander about while noticing the various perceptions coming and going around and within your body and mind.

And unhook attention from your thinking mind,

Letting thoughts go like clouds drifting away above you.

Your mind becoming calm and clear like a cloudless,

Open and spacious sky.

And your body letting go into the feeling of simply being and being here at ease and calm like the surface of a pond on a windless day.

And allow attention to turn inward to sensations within your body of ease,

Safety and calm.

If helpful,

Inviting in people,

Memories or a place in nature that helps you nourish feelings of being secure,

Safe,

Calm and at ease throughout your entire body and mind.

Knowing that you can return to and nourish these inner resources of ease and calm and feeling secure and safe at any time,

Wherever you are,

However you are,

Day or night,

Whenever you desire to feel totally secure,

Safe,

Calm and at ease.

Taking time now to welcome and release sensations of tightness or tension in the hinges of your jaw,

Mouth and tongue,

Ears,

Skin of the nose and face,

All around the eyes,

Forehead and scalp,

Soft,

Cool and at ease.

Sensations in the back of the neck and shoulder.

Letting go into the natural feelings of heaviness or lightness throughout the shoulders,

Arms and hands.

Letting go into the natural feeling sensations of ease throughout the torso,

Pelvis.

And natural sensations of heaviness or lightness in the legs and feet,

The entire body a field of vibrant,

Warm and pleasant sensations.

Thoughts drifting away like clouds in the sky,

Welcoming your experience just as it is.

Feeling at ease,

Calm and secure.

Knowing and feeling confident without your thinking mind having to know how that everything is in its right place,

That all is well and just as it should be.

Deeply breathing easily and comfortably.

Sensing the gentle rise and release of the chest and abdomen with each breath.

Feeling gentle sensations of expanding,

Exhaling,

Gentle sensations of releasing.

Each breath,

Loosening,

Softening and releasing tightness and tension throughout the entire body and mind.

With each breath,

Every cell and tissue receiving healing and nourishing flows of energy.

Feeling secure,

Calm and at ease.

Every breath,

Cleansing the body,

Restoring vibrant health and well-being throughout the body and mind.

Feeling yourself as a warm-hearted,

Friendly and detached witnessing presence.

Thoughts letting go like clouds drifting away above you.

Your mind calm and clear like a cloudless,

Open and spacious sky.

Your body letting go into the feeling of simply being and being at ease.

The mind quiet and calm like the surface of a pond on a windless day.

Finding yourself in an environment,

Inside or outdoors,

Where you're feeling secure and comfortable.

This place becoming vibrantly real as you explore your surroundings,

Taking in the sights and sounds to your right and left,

Above and below,

Out in front and behind you.

Noticing surfaces where you're standing,

Sitting or laying upon.

It might be grass or sand or resting in the sun with your back against a warm tree or rock or comfortably resting in a cozy armchair or bed.

Seeing and taking in the environment and sounds around you,

Birds,

Leaves rustling in the wind or perhaps the restful sounds of water gently babbling down a nearby stream or the sound of waves on the sand of a nearby beach.

Attuning to the wonderful sounds and environment around you,

Feeling secure and safe,

Peaceful and at ease.

Attuning to the beauty,

Comfort and safety that you feel in this place where you now are.

Sensing where and how in your body and mind you feel these inner resources of ease,

Comfort and well-being.

Feeling grateful to be here as you begin to sense a tingling,

Pleasant expectancy and excitement in the air and within you.

The feeling that something wonderful is happening as the air shimmering in front of you transforms into a translucent movie screen like one you may have seen before that's now in front of you.

Watching the screen,

Feeling peacefully curious as you become aware of forms taking shape on the screen,

Gazing at these emerging forms as they become more and more defined with a curious,

Detached feeling of interest as you come to realize that the scene on the screen is of a medical room where a group of qualified staff are preparing the room just for you.

A team of skillful,

Competent and trustworthy colleagues working together harmoniously,

Readying the room just for you.

And you easily enter the room to have a closer look,

Finding that the room has been prepared to your utmost satisfaction.

Seeing a patient on a bed being wheeled into the room amazed but not surprised,

Knowing that it's you on the bed.

Seeing yourself comfortable,

Calm and at ease,

Knowing you're surrounded by capable people who deeply care about the work they're doing.

As you gaze about the room you can see a remarkable group of guardians,

Friends and allies who are smiling and nodding to you their love and approval.

Unfamiliar faces of those who love you from your past,

Present or future.

Filling up the room with their loving presence and well wishes,

Here,

Looking after you,

Pleased that you're taking this caring step for your health,

Healing and well-being.

Feeling their loving gaze as they nod to you with quiet confidence as you begin moving into a deeply safe and comforting sleep.

Or perhaps just a comfortable,

Lightly sedated state where you ease into this restful time of deep healing and easeful well-being,

Knowing that you're in capable hands,

Being deeply cared for and taken care of.

Moving with curious detached interest as the team surrounding you are working around you and with your body.

Delighted to hear them express their appreciation at how well things are going,

How easy it is for them to be doing what's needed and how cooperative your body's being.

How they're delighted to see your body is calm and at ease and even slowing the blood flow to make their work go smoothly and easily.

As you're watching them work,

Feeling gratitude in your heart for this body of yours and how it's responding.

As your guardians,

Friends and allies continue to watch over you,

Smiling and nodding their loving approval at how well things are going.

Knowing and feeling how your body's innate healing intelligence knows exactly what to do,

Sending the exact restorative healing energy and nutriments that are needed to the precise sites throughout your body that are doing their job of fully healing what's needed.

Feeling gratitude and joy for your body's inherent healing ability,

That it's always knowing and doing exactly what's needed for it to heal completely.

Rebuilding new healthy cells where needed that are fully aligned with the original design within your body of health,

Wholeness and indestructible well-being.

Feeling thanks and gratitude for the medicine and procedures that this body is undergoing that support and engage your body's natural healing forces of vibrant healing,

Health and well-being.

Perhaps turning attention to feeling your inner resources of ease,

Safety and calm.

As your body's innate healing energies continue nourishing healing,

Health and well-being exactly where it's needed,

Without your thinking mind needing to know how,

As you continue letting go of thoughts and thinking,

Settling ever more deeply into feeling safe,

Secure and at ease.

Taking time now or whenever it feels right to welcome and respond to the various emotions,

Thoughts and sensations that may be calling for attention as messengers that are here to help you feel whole,

Healthy,

Vital and loving.

And when there is some perception calling your attention,

Welcoming it,

Feeling yourself as a warm-hearted presence,

While sensing where and how you feel this emotion,

This thought or sensation in your body and mind and any accompanying images or memories that are present.

While sensing your inner resources of ease,

Calm,

Well-being,

Welcoming your experience just as it is,

Letting go of thoughts,

Letting go of thinking or judging.

And when helpful,

Locating an opposite of this perception in where and how you feel this opposite in the body.

Coming back and forth between these opposites,

Experiencing first one,

Then its opposite.

Taking your time,

Welcoming and feeling each opposite in turn.

When it feels right,

Welcoming both opposites at the same time,

While feeling the healing effect this has throughout your entire body and mind.

Welcoming your experience just as it is and your inner resources of feeling secure,

Calm and at ease.

Noticing the pleased murmurs of the team who've been performing their tasks competently and meticulously as they complete everything they need to do with confident and respectful hands.

Noticing how good you're feeling with what they've accomplished and how they're deeply satisfied with their work and with themselves,

With one another and with you.

Bringing yourself wheeled into a new and comfortable room,

Accompanied by your guardians and friends,

Where your body continues healing.

Sensing and feeling how your body's innate healing intelligence knows exactly what to do,

Sending the exact restorative healing energy and nutriments that are needed to the precise places throughout your body that are now fully mending and completely healing.

Feeling loving gratitude for your body's inherent healing ability that knows and is doing exactly what's needed for your body to heal completely.

Seeing yourself comfortable,

Settled and calm,

Perhaps smiling at the attendants around you who are helping you feel comfortable and at ease.

Drifting to sleep,

Feeling comfortably warm and at ease and safe as your body continues healing with minimal discomfort.

Healthy new cells weaving themselves into place as unneeded debris washes away in the flowing rivulets of your bloodstream.

Cells,

Tissues and muscles realigning,

Organizing and mending themselves for your body's maximum healing,

Health and well-being.

Seeing yourself now fully recovered,

Going about your life,

Engaged in your favorite activities,

Moving with ease and grace,

Doing what you love without a thought or care in the world.

Your body strong and vital,

Fully feeling and enjoying its health,

Aliveness and well-being.

Smiling with a warm and grateful heart,

Taking in the knowing that you are safe and protected and surrounded by love.

Knowing you have gifts to share,

Things to accomplish with your strong,

Vibrant body.

Knowing and feeling how your body fully and easily cooperates in the worldly engagements you're now involved in.

Feeling the strength,

Resilience and power of your body that's yours to call upon as you wish.

Taking in and out peace,

Ease and well-being.

Turn your attention to welcoming the following statements as affirmations of fact that your body and mind are now taking in and engaging without your thinking mind needing to know how.

Pure and powerful healing energies are flowing throughout my body during every procedure and throughout my recovery as I go through all my medical procedures and recovery with ease,

With no complications,

Minimal bleeding,

Little discomfort,

With a sense of ease and well-being.

And I feel my body taking in and following these instructions.

Immediately after every procedure,

My body recovers quickly and easily,

With my body and mind feeling comfortable,

Secure and at ease.

My body mends,

Heals and recovers quickly and efficiently during my recovery,

With healthy new cells interweaving themselves into place and my body easily washing away and eliminating all unnecessary debris.

And I feel my body following these instructions.

My body has a natural blueprint of health and wholeness within that enables my body and mind to feel whole,

Healthy,

Vital and strong.

And I sense this.

I feel this.

When I am awake and asleep,

My body is building new vital and healthy cells that are fully aligned with the original blueprint of my body's innate health,

Wholeness and well-being.

I see myself going about my daily life,

Giving thanks and feeling gratitude for the medicine and procedures that I undergo during my recovery that are supporting and engaging my body's natural healing forces.

I welcome the love and assistance of my guardians,

Friends and allies,

Past,

Present and future,

For their support,

For their love and strength.

I am surrounded by their love and caring,

And I feel their love flowing through my body and mind as warm waves of caring and love.

I trust my body's ability to welcome and use what's helpful in healing.

I trust my body to eliminate what is unnecessary throughout my healing journey,

And I feel my body following these instructions.

Taking as long now as it feels right,

Setting attention free to wander about noticing the various perceptions that are arising within and around you.

And when it feels timely and right,
