Welcome to your meditation for a cozy,

Stormy summer evening.

You can hear the waves crashing outside as we're right by the ocean,

But warm,

Cozy,

And safe exactly where we are right now.

As you find a comfy spot and settle in for the evening,

You may be wrapping a blanket around you,

Or maybe you're joining me with a nice warm cup of tea.

Take a few deep breaths in through your nose,

And exhale through your mouth,

Extending the exhale slightly longer than each inhale.

Just taking a few deep breaths at your own time.

Good,

Feeling gently relaxed and peaceful,

Letting go of the day,

Again just settling in for the evening of peace and relaxation.

Waves crashing outside,

Maybe a little bit of a thunderstorm,

But a peaceful,

Calming,

Comforting sort of weather.

Good,

Feeling more relaxed.

And I invite you now to close your eyes if you have not done so already.

Just feeling present,

Right here,

Right now.

Nowhere to be,

Nothing to do,

Perfectly at peace.

You may continue the deep breathing if it feels right for you,

Or simply relax into your own comfortable pace of breathing.

There's nothing more comforting than being safe and warm,

Cozy inside,

While it's stormy and tumultuous outside.

To say a good analogy for life,

We always have our calm,

Peaceful,

Internal weather to return to,

Regardless of what is happening externally on the surface.

And now I'd like you to bring to mind somewhere that feels very safe and comfortable to you.

It could be exactly where you are right now,

Or with a few minor changes,

Or it could be somewhere entirely different.

It's completely up to you,

Whatever makes you feel comfortable and safe.

And as you imagine this place,

Immerse yourself in it.

You are surrounded by and encompassed by this peaceful,

Beautiful place that feels right to you,

Wherever that may be.

And now I'd like you to imagine that there is somebody there with you.

It could be even yourself as your younger child self,

It could be a grandparent who may have passed away,

It could be a best friend,

Or a parent,

Or a partner,

It could be anybody that just makes you feel so safe and so comfortable,

That you feel a lot of love for.

Again,

Anybody who comes to mind.

Someone you know well,

Someone that you feel a nice connection to.

And I'd like you to imagine this person wrapping their arms around you in a nice big hug,

As you feel their warmth and the comfort emanating from them.

Allow them to wrap you in warmth and comfort.

Breathing deeply into this sensation of being completely comfortable and at ease.

Knowing this person will support you,

Knowing this person will be there for you,

Just as you would for them if they needed you as well.

And if you have a favorite pet or animal,

You could invite them into the space as well.

Maybe you have a cat sitting on your lap,

Or a puppy cozied up near down by your feet.

Any animal that brings you comfort,

Just imagine them there with you as well if you would like.

And as this person who you've invited into the space with you,

Releases their hug just a little and sits beside you,

You see that they've also brought you your favorite treat.

Bring to mind what this might be,

A food or a drink.

Your favorite comfort food.

Maybe something warm,

Maybe something sweet or salty.

Think of what this would be,

Your favorite most comforting food.

Maybe something that reminds you of your childhood.

And with your eyes closed,

Imagine taking a bite or a sip of whatever this person has brought you.

Really allowing the taste to consume your senses,

And the smell and the feel of the food object.

Really just savoring and enjoying every single bit of it,

As this person who you love and who loves you,

Joins you in this while sitting beside you.

Take a nice deep inhale,

And follow it with a long deep exhale out.

You're feeling so peaceful now,

Knowing you are perfectly safe,

Knowing you're exactly where you need to be,

Nothing can harm you.

Negative thoughts are not allowed in here,

Or if they do,

Just observe them,

If they do come by,

Letting them go,

Knowing they have no hold over you,

No power over you.

This is a peaceful,

Safe space to be in.

And with the storm still brewing outside,

Waves crashing on the rocks beneath,

Take comfort in knowing how secure you truly are,

And knowing that the security comes from within.

Regardless of what is all around,

We always have this place of peace and security within us at all times.

We simply need to find a moment to calm the mind and return to this safe place.

I'll leave you now for a few minutes to just bask in this comfort,

The peace,

The quiet,

Breathing comfortably,

Sitting peacefully.

And very slowly coming back to your breath,

You are more than welcome to stay here and fall asleep to the gentle music,

Or if you're ready to end your meditation,

Cozy practice,

Please feel free to join me in a final deep inhale,

Breathing in all the peace and serenity that we've cultivated here today,

Followed by a nice,

Long,

Deep,

Relaxing exhale,

Just letting go of any last remaining tension that may be lingering anywhere in your body,

Feeling more at peace,

Feeling more calm,

Ready to drift off into sleep or to continue on with the rest of your day in a more gentle,

Peaceful,

Relaxed state.

Thank you so much for joining me,

I'm wishing you a beautiful night or rest of your day.

Thank you.
