When Sensitivity Is A Sign Of Growth (When Healing Hurts)
by Reuben Lowe
When we experience emotional sensitivity, anxiety or overwhelm, the mind can create a painful narrative: I’m too sensitive. I’m overreacting. Something is wrong with me. This reflection from When Healing Hurts invites us to unhook from negative self-talk and make room for another possibility. Sometimes increased sensitivity can accompany greater awareness of ourselves, our emotions and what genuinely matters to us. Instead of immediately treating sensitivity as something to fix, we explore meeting it with mindfulness, self-compassion and curiosity. A gentle reflection on trauma-informed healing, emotional processing, self-awareness, personal and spiritual growth, inner connection and becoming more deeply connected with ourselves, ending with a short rhyming affirmation.
