We all experience struggle, self-doubt, difficult emotions, and the endless activity of the thinking mind. It's part of the human condition. Yet beneath the noise, there is something remarkable available to us: awareness. In this reflective talk, we explore our capacity to notice what is happening within us without becoming lost in it. The thoughts, feelings, stories, and struggles may arise, but they are not the entirety of who we are. Together, we'll explore the idea that we are conscious beings having human experiences—experiences that can be difficult, painful, and at times overwhelming. Yet through awareness, we can learn to reconnect with ourselves rather than become consumed by the struggle. This talk explores mindfulness, self-awareness, neuroplasticity, and the practice of returning to ourselves with compassion. A gentle reflection on disconnecting so that we can reconnect, and remembering that we are more than the thoughts passing through our minds.
