Kids love to imagine and pretend. "Let's Fly Together" combines the power of imagination, pretending, learning and mindfulness practice. This is Day 1 of a mini-series. We get to explore one of the 7 continents of the world, Antarctica. It’s our hope that it will pave the way for your little one to not only use the wonder and wisdom of intuition, as well as the applied practice of being calm and content. This content theme has been designed for kids approximately 3 - 7 years old.

Welcome to Let's Fly Together.

This is Day 1.

This is going to be fun.

Sometimes we are going to imagine.

Sometimes we are going to pretend.

Sometimes you are going to be in a calm and content place just because you want to.

Every day for seven days we are going to go on an adventure.

Every day we are going to learn about one of the seven continents of the world.

Every day we are going to meet friends and practice being calm and content.

Are you ready to start this adventure?

Let's fly together.

So have you got your imagination skills ready?

What about your pretending skills?

Are they ready?

As well as imagining and pretending we're going to practice being calm and content.

When we're calm and content we can relax.

Feeling content also means that things around us feel okay or maybe even that things around us feel good.

Sometimes we're not calm and content like when we're worried about something at school or getting upset at your friend who won't play fairly or getting sad for no reason at all.

Just sad.

We all experience these feelings sometimes.

Even some of your favorite adults in your life sometimes feel like this.

So finding this calm and content space can help you practice for those times when you want to feel calm and content and we'll do this every day near the end of our adventure.

But that's not all.

This is going to be an extra special adventure.

Would you like to know why it's going to be extra special?

It's going to be extra special because there is going to be a special friend with you.

This special friend is that little voice inside your tummy.

Have a little think now.

Have you ever heard a little voice inside your tummy before?

Would you like to hear some of the things the little voice inside your tummy would say to you?

Let me give you a hint.

Some of the things that the little voice would say are,

I'm the little voice inside your tummy.

I can be your special friend.

I will always have good messages for you.

You can ask me anything,

Anything you need and I will always have helpful and kind things to say to you.

A special friend.

Your special friend just for you.

How exciting.

So what's your experience?

Maybe you have already spoken to the little voice inside your tummy.

Maybe you haven't and it's something very new.

So how about this?

Let's take a few seconds now without me talking and you can say whatever you like to this little voice.

If you would like to close your eyes you can.

Sometimes closing our eyes helps us concentrate.

So what would you like to say to the little voice inside your tummy?

Maybe you would like to check that it's there.

Are you ready to take a listen to see if it's there?

Okay now remember you can do this whenever you like.

Sometimes it's helpful to go to a quiet space to hear the little whisper.

It might be that you didn't hear anything or much at all but let's put the practice in because practice helps us to experience this special friend much more.

Let's start our adventure.

We need some great imagination now and this involves flying high in the sky.

Maybe you'd like to spend a few moments of quiet time and ask the little voice inside your tummy for some special flying powers.

Are you ready?

Great!

Now we're flying high in the sky up and up we go.

Further,

Further,

Further still and then starting too slow.

Wow!

Let's take a look here high above down at your home.

Now that you're floating up here you may like to spend a few seconds wishing the people in your home a lovely message.

Maybe you can close your eyes and create a lovely message to those people that you care about.

Now let's go a little higher still so we can look down upon the world floating in space.

Wow!

Look at that big round sphere.

Planet Earth.

Look at all that blue water.

Two-thirds of the earth is covered by water.

Think of all those fish swimming around in that water right now and here you are with the power of your imagination floating high in the sky with the little voice inside your tummy.

So if two-thirds of the earth is covered in water that means one-third is covered in land.

This land has been divided into seven parts.

These parts are called continents.

Antarctica,

Africa,

Asia,

Australasia,

Europe,

North America and South America.

Look at the bottom at the south pole of planet Earth.

It's almost entirely covered in ice.

Look at how white it is.

This is Antarctica and guess how cold it is down there.

It's so cold that if you threw a bucket of water on the ground it would be frozen solid in a few seconds.

Even though it's this cold some of the animals that live there are penguins,

Seals and seabirds.

Now let's get ready having had that adventure exploring Antarctica.

Let's get really cozy for our trip home.

What do we need to get really cozy?

We need comfort.

We need warmth.

We need calmness.

Look over there.

It's a fluffy friendly white cloud and look a little closer.

Can you see it's got the word helpful written upon its big fluffy belly?

Why don't you and the little voice inside your tummy take a ride home inside this big soft fluffy friendly white cloud?

That would be very helpful.

You are completely covered by lots of soft fluffy white comfortable stuff.

It's so comfortable just like being under your bed covers with the torch light on.

See if you can notice that the friendly fluffy white cloud is actually breathing very gently.

Can you see how gentle its big white belly gently moves in and gently moves out?

Maybe you can notice the rise and fall of your own breathing.

Noticing how gentle your breathing moves in and out again.

Maybe you could put a hand where you notice the movement.

Would you like to put a hand there?

Now see what it's like to close your eyes and imagine this helpful cloud breathing at the same time as you.

See if you can do this now.

And now see if you can stay with your breathing as you open your eyes and look around the room that you're in right now.

Here you are right here right now in your room.

And now that you've done this the white fluffy helpful cloud has a great tip for you.

When you focus upon your breathing it can help you be in a calm place.

And don't forget the little voice inside your tummy.

It only says helpful and kind things.

Let's spend one more moment of quiet time to see if the little voice inside your tummy has something to say before we finish.

Tomorrow in day two we are going to go on a similar adventure.

We are going to explore Africa,

The largest continent in the world.

Lots of things to imagine,

Lots of things to experience and a great way to practice being calm and content.

After successfully trying out a very short track my grandson and I moved onto this trip to Antarctica. He is 5 years old. He answered your questions and understood about using his imagination and pretending skills. He loves animals so was interested to hear what he could see. Being a very active child I’m sure these tracks could work wonders if done regularly. Just a matter of convincing the parents! Thanks Reuben 🙏
