"Trails and Tranquility: An Alpine Yoga and Hiking Retreat" Looking for a different way to spend your (long) May 1st weekend? Summits and Soundwaves brings together yoga, hiking, and sound healing in the alpine surroundings of Mondsee, Austria. Accommodation is at the Schloss Hotel Mondsee, a former monastery offering a peaceful atmosphere, spa facilities, and refined cuisine. The historic hotel offers calm spaces, modern comfort, and opportunities for retreat. Guests can enjoy a spa area, a small pool, and several restaurants with vegetarian options. Its location combines proximity to the town with easy access to nature. Guided hikes explore forests and alpine trails with views of lakes and mountains. The hikes are accessible and thoughtfully designed, focusing on steady movement, fresh air, and connection to the landscape rather than performance. Daily yoga sessions balance energizing morning practices with slower evening classes. Movement, breathwork, and short meditative phases support strength, mobility, and calm. Weather permitting, some sessions may take place by the lake. All classes are adaptable and open to different experience levels. Sound healing sessions with traditional singing bowls support deep relaxation and integration, helping the body and mind settle. Afternoons offer flexibility: hiking, spa time, lakeside walks, or rest.

Diets catered

Vegetarian

The buffet breakfast caters to various diets, and the dinners offer a meat-based and vegetarian option. For specific intolerances and allergies, you would need to let us know in advance so we can check with the hotel if they can cater to your needs, which in previous cases was always possible, e.g., fructose intolerance or onion and garlic intolerance.

Schedule

During your stay, you'll have the opportunity to practice yoga twice daily, guided by certified 200H Yoga Teachers, an 800H Yoga Therapist (Vlad), and a Sound Healer (Chris). - Morning Sessions: Begin your day with energizing yoga classes that combine dynamic poses, breathwork, and stretches to awaken your senses and prepare you for the day ahead. - Evening Sessions: Wind down with calming yoga classes featuring gentle movements, soothing breath exercises, and meditative practices to help you relax and unwind. Additionally, for an extra fee, Chris offers individual or couple restorative "Sound Healing" sessions to deepen relaxation and balance through vibrations. Vlad provides "Asana Clinic" sessions for those interested in exploring more challenging poses or personalized modifications to enhance their practice. In the afternoons, you have two options: 1. Explore Alpine Trails: Join guided hikes with stunning lake views. If the weather is unfavorable, enjoy an excursion to Salzburg, featuring highlights like Mozart’s birthplace and traditional Austrian strudel. 2. Relaxation: Alternatively, unwind in the spa or take a stroll along the lakeside.

Testimonials

info

The organization (Vlad and Chris, you both took really good care of us), the location, and the classes (their diversity and the perfect sequence).

Lisa Zhirma, Russia

Everything, the location, the diverse yoga sessions, the sound healing, and the food!

Amara Raquel Marin Hidalgo, Germany

The whole trip and experience were amazing - if need to pick one session then it would be the restorative and sound bath session, the location, the hotel, and the 'mystery' excursion. Thank you both!

Butta Sakshi, India

The quality of yoga classes, a lot of explanations on correct moves, breath, where the tension should be, etc., also three levels for asanas when applicable - for any level (light, medium, more complicated) - this was great!

Maria Firsova, Russia

The variety and amount of yoga, I specifically liked the sound healing & the visual effects of the Moon-screening :)

Andrea Valko, Hungary

The selection of "calmer" yoga styles was really appealing to me. It balanced well with the sweatier hiking trips. The sound healing was a revelation. The hotel and the food were excellent. The quality and the service were delightful.

Lynn Hof, Germany

Mix of Hiking and Yoga, food at the hotel, relaxation Yoga.

Gaby Vasquez, Ecuador

All the sessions were so well crafted, felt like a flow over the whole time.

Sheila Regan, The UK

Yoga at the lake, as well as the hikes, were my highlights of the weekend.
