Into The Wild A Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, and Hang Music Retreat Are you longing to get away from the stresses of these challenging times? Enjoy a week of inspiration and gentle stimulation for your senses. You will reconnect with yourself through yoga amidst the wonders of vibrant nature and wildlife. Our retreat immerses you in the lush beauty of the vibrant Peninsula de Osa, one of the last untouched tropical paradises in the south of Costa Rica. Enjoy tranquil days with like-minded people, sharing laughter, tears, joy and movement. PUERTO JIMENEZ, OSA PENINSULA Go off the beaten path to a place where your alarm clock is the call of a playful howler monkey, your lullaby, cicada song carried on the Pacific breeze, where the mangoes are sweeter than honey, scarlet macaws more common than pigeons and where, when it comes to your yoga practice and wellness, there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. RECONNECT WITH NATURE Nereus Retreat center promises a sublime setting for your yoga retreat where the rainforest meets the ocean. Located in Costa Rica’s famous Osa Peninsula – a region described by National Geographic as one of the most “biologically intense” places on the planet – the area is bookended by the deep blue waters of the Pacific to the west and the Golfo Dulce, or “Sweet Gulf”, to the east. While the Osa comprises only 3 per cent of Costa Rica’s total land area, it is home to more than 50 per cent of the country’s animal and plant species. Our retreat center is located just outside Puerto Jiménez, a historic gold mining and logging community, and one of two major gateways to the the awe-inspiring, 425sq km Corcovado National Park – picture a biodiverse Eden home to some 140 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, 116 species of reptiles and amphibians, 40 species of fish, four species of sea turtles and more than 500 species of trees. Spend local days out exploring the peninsula’s spectacular beaches, snorkeling in calm coves, turtle-, dolphin- or whale-watching, kayaking through lush mangroves, before heading back to our gardens to, perhaps, swing lazily on a hammock while watching, through one eye, a squirrel monkey leaping to land on a branch overhead.

As a hub for eco-tourism, Puerto Jiménez provides access to the Corcovado National Park, one of the most biologically intense places on Earth, where visitors can explore lush rainforests teeming with exotic wildlife, including jaguars, scarlet macaws, and tapirs. The town itself is a blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences, featuring local markets, cozy cafes, and vibrant community life. The driving force behind Nereus Retreats, New York-born Jen is a nutritionist and health coach with an international client practice. Having trained as an Ayurvedic practitioner in India, and with extensive qualifications in functional medicine nutrition, she has worked as a health supportive chef, health educator and yoga teacher, and holds an MSc in public health. All meals are buffet style and cater to all dietary needs because of Jen's professional background and passion for individual health. We also include a free workshop with Jen during the retreat about Nutrition: What does ‘food as medicine’ really mean and how can I apply this in my daily life? These days we hear the term ‘food as medicine’ in reference to health supportive eating, but what does that really mean? Whether we credit this concept to Hippocrates, the ancient Ayurvedic medical texts, or modern day Functional Medicine, it is the belief that diet is integral in supporting health as well as preventing and curing disease.

Dagmar's teaching is intuitive, informed by decades of guiding others" and ranges from strength building vinyasa flow to the quiet and restorative nature of yin practice . . . all, while being a beautiful expression of the sunshine within her. A week long retreat with Dagmar includes a gorgeous venue, amazing healthy food and accompanying live music. Her partner Daniel graces the room and lifts your spirit with the sweet sounds of the Hang instrument which he plays during yoga classes. Thank you, Daniel! And, Dagmar, thank you for your dedication to the yogic path, extraordinary depth of knowledge, warmth and sharing your wisdom and expert teaching skills for all levels. Your light will remain a point of positivity on my journey.

I just came back from a wonderful yoga retreat with Dagmar in Costa Rica. The yoga practice, the location (in the jungle yet at the beach), the food - it was amazing. I have done several retreats with Dagmar (Ibiza, Mallorca, Umbria, Austrian mountains) and keep coming back as I enjoy them so much. Dagmar has a gift to hold space allowing you to relax, reflect and thrive. She guides through the practice with her calm voice with ease whether you are experienced or new to yoga. The yoga is dynamic Vinyasa Yoga in the morning and Yin Yoga in the evening, often accompanied by Hang music from her partner Daniel which is just magical. She always finds the best locations with delicious, healthy food.

My 2nd yoga retreat with Dagmar and my first one in Costa Rica at Nereus was fabulous! She always puts together a wonderful group of people. I couldn’t have asked for anything more! I loved being in the chalet where we practiced yoga….Listening to the birds and monkeys and watching the leaves fall. Heaven The food at Nereus was fantastic and the rooms were spacious and clean…I will be back next year

Dagmar’s yoga retreat was magical. The environment brought together jungle, beach and temperate climate, a perfect setting to unwind and renew. Dagmar, a gifted yoga teacher, created a space for us to connect with ourselves and each in a loving no pressure manner. Daniel’s hang and crystal bowls were exquisite accompaniments to the classes. The wonderful people at Nereus Retreats provided the perfect compliment to the yoga with delicious, nutritious meals, lovely accommodations and a warm and helpful presence. And as an added and much appreciated bonus we had Suzanne’s relaxing and therapeutic massages and a wonderful nutrition workshop by Jen. The jungle and mangrove excursions enriched the experience. We highly recommend.

It is with great pleasure that I share my yoga experience at the Nereus retreat with Dagmar And Daniel. I first discovered yoga with Dagmar on YouTube in 2008 and was struck by the powerful combination of Dagmar’s gentle skillful Instruction and the ethereal musical Accompaniment from the hang drum. When I saw that they would be leading a retreat in Costa Rica, I signed up immediately. The in-person experience was so much more resonant and powerful. Dagmar’s personal journey informs and enhances the yoga sessions as she openly shares from her heart and inspires us to do the same. From the wonderfully intimate retreat setting at Nereus, To the delicious food, The nearby beach And sunrise meditations, To the extra kayaking and jungle walk opportunities, It was all told an unforgettable week and I will be signing up for another retreat In the future.
