The Fear to Freedom Retreat: A week of questioning beliefs that create fear, distrust, urge-to-control, suffering....so you can embody living inquiry. Turn the fear you keep fighting into the freedom you've been searching for. Join Grace Bell for a week in self-inquiry with The Work of Byron Katie, parts work and somatic awareness in a beautiful Olympic Peninsula edge of the continent. Olympic Inquiry. Living Inquiry. Four questions. Your answers. "Another great retreat with Grace is in the books. I’m always pleasantly surprised by the amount of positive movement I get in my life by attending. Doing the Work in person is my favorite way to therapeutically address my personal growth. And as a bonus, I get new friends each time." This week-long immersion that shows you how to stop resisting your way through life and finally rest in what's true — without decades more of therapy, being against big feelings, or pretending you're OK. We will be embodying our work with somatic experience, the felt sense from the neck down that transforms us. The primary task of a good transformational retreat, is not to answer your questions, but to question your answers. Stop being overwhelmed by and against fear, so you can make clear decisions from wisdom instead of panic, and actually trust life. Drop the exhausting weight of resistance in general; the arguing with reality, the bracing, the "what if" spiraling — so your nervous system can remember calm. Meet your hardest relationships with steadiness instead of reactivity so the people you love stop feeling like a threat, and connection becomes possible again. Walk away with a living practice — not just insights that fade by the following Tuesday — so when fear rises at 2am six months from now, you know exactly what to do with it. This retreat is right for you, if: You've done the personal growth work — read the books, attended the workshops, followed the teachers — and still find yourself gripped by the same fears you thought you'd moved past. You're a thoughtful, self-aware person who is genuinely tired of knowing better but not living better. You're navigating a life transition — a relationship ending, a career shift, aging parents, an empty nest, a health scare — and the old coping strategies aren't cutting it anymore (like overeating, over-thinking, over-overing) You're someone who longs for a contemplative, unhurried week that goes deeper than inspiration — you want actual transformation that comes from inquiry, not performance. You've been curious about Byron Katie's The Work, Internal Family Systems, or somatic approaches and want to experience them in a held, sustained container. You'd like to stop managing your fear and start meeting it, and you suspect that on the other side of that meeting is something that looks a lot like freedom. You're deeply interested in the great existential questions of human life: Why am I here? Who am I? What does it all mean? What is going on? Welcome. This retreat is for you.
