Inner Child Meditation helps us to connect with the inner parts of ourselves.

We all have parts that hold positive and negative beliefs and experiences,

And some wounding.

There is no perfect human.

We are all works in progress,

And on a healing journey throughout our lifetime.

This meditation can be of benefit for everyone.

It does not replace therapy,

However,

It can be an excellent addition.

Together in this meditation,

We will use visualization,

Relaxation,

And positive affirmations.

With gentle compassion and curiosity,

We can get in touch with our own inner child and what we need.

We all want to be seen,

Heard,

And loved.

Let us begin.

Find yourself in a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down.

It's time to let your body soften and sink with each exhalation.

Notice the cool air in your nostrils,

And the softness in your breath.

Let go of tension with each inhalation and exhalation.

Breathing in,

We can say calm,

And exhaling our breath,

We can say place.

Breathing in calm,

And exhaling place.

We are safe and secure here in our body,

And in this breath that anchors us here.

There is nothing that anyone needs from us.

And we are open to our breath and relaxation,

Sinking deeper and letting go.

Release and relax your jaw,

Letting go of all tension.

And in your mind's eye,

Focus on a window,

A perfect window with perfect symmetry.

A perfect place to sit and gaze and look out.

Now in your mind's eye,

Walking towards this window,

You pause standing before it,

Taking a long,

Slow inhalation,

And a long,

Slow exhalation.

You reach out,

And you open the window.

And looking out,

You see a beautiful environment.

Breathe in the cool,

Crisp air.

This place is either real or imagined,

And a calm place and setting.

You lean forward and take another breath in.

And sitting on the windowsill,

You dangle your feet before swinging your legs over.

And your feet tenderly and firmly land on the ground.

This place is so inviting that you gaze as far as you can see.

And with your next breath in,

You take a step forward.

Walking,

You feel the cool air caress your skin.

And you breathe in,

And you smell delicious air.

It smells fresh,

And a scent that you remember.

The light softly falls on your face,

And you open your palms to feel the sun touch your hands.

The sun touches your whole body,

And you are warm,

Calm,

And peaceful.

Walking in this beautiful place,

You feel renewed and alive.

And as you walk,

You see a child in the distance.

As you walk closer,

The image becomes more clear.

When you see this image,

This child,

Clearly,

This child is yourself.

You walk closer,

Until you are face to face.

Reaching out,

You take your own hands.

Dear one,

Right now you are safe.

You are safe and secure,

And you exhale.

In this moment,

You celebrate joy and playfulness.

And you see your life and your pure potential.

Looking into your own eyes as a child,

You clearly see and repeat the following silently to yourself.

Today,

Today I am showing up for me.

Today I am taking time just to be today.

Today I can prioritize myself and what I need.

I acknowledge my body is a gift.

I am a gift.

I am full of vitality.

I have energy.

I can nourish and replenish.

Now taking your own hands,

Your own tiny hands within your hands.

Give me these little hands with love.

Reach out and give yourself a hug.

And in your own embrace,

Feel self-love,

Compassion.

Dear one,

You are a sweet child of the universe.

Your love.

Take your time here and feel what you need to feel with curiosity and compassion.

Breathing in,

Inhaling calm and exhaling breath.

Inhaling calm and exhaling breath.

Now bringing your attention back to that breath.

We will take two short breaths in and a long exhale.

Once again,

Breathing in and coming to your heart center.

You can feel that heart beating and feeling your heart beating.

We are ready to return back to the window.

So you release the hands of your inner child,

That little part of you,

The part that is already a part of you.

And you smile tenderly and offer gratitude for this moment,

For this calm place.

Is a place you can return to and connect with your child,

Your inner child,

Anywhere,

Anytime.

So turn and walk towards the window.

If you want to,

You can take a step and look back and pause.

Again offering gratitude.

We are ready to return to the world from which we came,

Back to our home.

Reminding yourself that you can come back again and again.

Walking towards the window,

We stop just before we lower our body back into the window.

We notice our body,

How we feel in our body,

Our feet grounded and rooted.

And we take a step and we lower ourselves back into the room.

Back into our body,

Feeling the heaviness.

Settle back into your seated position or the position that you are lying.

Breathing in,

Bring some movement back to your body.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes and flutter your eyes open gently.

Dear one,

You are home and you are loved.
