Hello and welcome to another guided meditation from Relax With Anissa,
The podcast that helps you navigate the chaos of everyday life using mindfulness as your compass.
This is your host Anissa De La Paz and I invite you to find a comfortable position before we get started.
That can be laying down or sitting or you can even be out on a walk.
This is your space to fully embrace and honor the natural impulses of your body.
Begin by becoming aware of your body sensations.
Noticing your breath.
We will start with the body scan,
Bringing your awareness to the top of your head.
Slowly moving down.
Relaxing the face as you scan.
Relaxing the neck and shoulders.
Slowly working your way down and simply becoming aware of any tension in your body.
Giving yourself permission to let it go.
As you continue your scan,
I invite you to visualize roots going down into the earth from beneath you.
These roots are going all the way to the center,
Serving as your anchor throughout this practice today.
Continuing the body scan,
Begin to release anything that's no longer serving you by sending any thoughts,
Sensations down your roots back to the earth.
Moving all the way to your toes.
Once you've completed your body scan,
Begin to visualize a light coming into the top of your head.
This light is coming into you and beaming out through your heart center,
Creating a clear channel for connection.
Creating a clear channel for connection,
Communication,
Love,
Abundance.
Allow it all to flow through you.
Now,
Remembering that anything that comes up that is not for your highest good,
You can send it down your roots,
Trusting that you're letting go and releasing.
I invite you now to bring to mind a place.
This can be a place you've been to before or maybe you created today.
This is your safe space.
It can be out in nature.
Maybe you're seeing a beach or mountains.
It can be a place you've been to before or maybe you've created today.
Whatever it is for you,
This is your space.
You can come back to it at any time during your meditation,
At any time throughout your day.
In this space,
I would like you to bring to mind your inner child.
Now,
If this is new for you,
I would like for you to also consider what does it mean to connect with the version of yourself who is still very small,
Who maybe misunderstands.
What does it mean for you to sit next to the version of yourself who is still trying to figure out things in the world?
When we pause and give ourselves this opportunity to love the part of us that just wants to be loved,
That simply wants to be outside,
Playing,
Laughing,
Free from all of life's worries,
What does it look like for you to create that space for your inner child to be present with you?
Notice what the expression is of your inner child.
Maybe they're playful.
Maybe they're sad.
Whatever it is,
Simply be present with them today.
There is no need to change this experience.
The only thing needed in this space is presence,
Awareness and unconditional love.
I invite you to bring your inner child close to you.
Maybe you even give them a hug.
Simply ask,
What is it that you need right now in this moment?
What can I give to you today?
Just listen.
Just listen.
Now that you have created this deeply profound and healing connection with your inner child,
You can bring them into any experience you have in life.
I encourage you to acknowledge them throughout your day,
In moments of tension,
Irritability,
Stress,
Anxiety.
Ask your inner child,
What is it that they need?
This simple act can change the way that you treat yourself,
That you show up for yourself,
And ultimately,
How you show up in the world.
We often think that we have to do many practices,
Or take extensive amount of time to heal,
But this is not true.
Forming this relationship with your inner child will completely change the way you treat yourself and others.
I invite you now to come back to the light.
That was emanating from your heart when we started today.
Think of someone who you love,
And send this light to them,
From your heart to theirs.
Now think of someone who has hurt you,
And send this light from your heart to theirs.
Remembering yourself,
That all parts of us are reflected in those around us,
And every experience is an intention,
A lesson,
And an opportunity to grow and heal.
