Good day,
Sylvie here.
And today I'm inviting you to celebrate a fire element,
The summer solstice.
So in this moment I invite you to simply take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth,
Let it go.
And the invitation for this practice is to either sit down with a straight spine,
Or stand tall,
Both feet being down towards the earth,
And again standing nice and straight.
So you get to choose how you want to position yourself in this moment,
Whatever is most comfortable for you.
So once again,
Think about rooting down either through the sit bones or through your feet,
Finding that length in the spine and allow the shoulders to soften.
Taking a moment to simply notice what it feels like to be in this moment,
The here and the now,
This dedicated space to pause,
Space to welcome in the fiery element of the summer season.
So again,
The sensation of rooting down,
I invite you to take a deep breath in through the nose,
Allow the breath to expand through the body.
And as you exhale,
Push the breath down towards the earth.
Again,
Inhale and invite the breath to run up through the body,
Feel the body expanding,
Perhaps a little more into that heart space area.
And then exhale,
Press the breath down,
Let it go,
All the way down towards the earth.
One more like this,
You inhale,
Invite the breath in.
And exhale,
Press it down and out,
Let it go,
Let it go,
Let it go,
Celebrating the longest day of the year here together.
Notice what it feels like to stand or sit up nice and tall to take up space in this moment.
Offer gratitude to the sun,
The summer season,
That soft breeze,
The smell of the lilac trees.
I invite you to bring your attention,
Your awareness to your best summer memory,
A time when you felt expanded in full bloom,
Perhaps feeling joy,
Contentment,
Happiness,
A time where you felt connected.
And in this moment,
Notice what you see around you.
What are the colors you can notice?
Who are you with?
What do you hear?
And what do you smell?
What are the little details of this particular moment that you can notice?
And then bring your awareness back into your body and notice how you feel in this moment.
Your best summer memory is here.
Notice what place in your body brings up a sensation.
What can you feel?
What can you notice?
And breathe into that sensation,
Knowing that this feeling lives within the body and you can access it at any moment because it lives inside you.
And taking this moment of light,
Of joy,
Of gratitude,
Connection,
And community,
Tuning into the fiery energy of the sun,
Inviting in strength and courage,
Inviting in this new season,
This next chapter.
Tune into the idea of how you might stoke your own inner fire.
How will you tend to your own inner flame or even your inner radiance?
How do you want to feel in this next season of life?
And again,
Allow your shoulders to soften,
Tuning into the sensation of rooting down while standing or sitting tall,
Bringing your attention,
Your awareness to the movement of your breath in your body in this moment,
Allowing your awareness to come back into the body.
And once again,
As you take a deep breath in,
Allow the breath to feel expansive through the body and exhale,
Press the breath down towards the earth.
Once again,
Invite a deep breath in and exhale to press it out.
Breathing in possibility,
Expansion,
Strength,
And courage,
And exhale,
Send the breath down towards the earth.
We root down so that we can stand tall and we welcome in this next season of our lives.
And if your eyes are closed,
You can slowly flutter them open.
Welcome yourself back into the space,
Into the day.
