Alternate Nostril Breath + Mudra To Balance Nervous System

A short guided breathing exercise designed to support a healthy nervous system. Vyana Vayu mudra is the hand gesture of the all-pervading current of energy in the body known as Vyana Vayu. Using alternate nostril breathing and simple use of Vyanavayu mudra, this practice will promote nourishment of a healthy nervous system. Use at any time of the day.

This will be an alternate nostril breathing practice with Vyana Vayu Mudra.

Vyana Vayu Mudra is a gesture of all pervading current of energy.

It is ideal for MS and the health of the nervous system.

Starting out with Vyana Vayu Mudra.

With the right hand,

Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the ring finger.

The other fingers are extended.

With the left hand,

Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the middle finger.

The other fingers are extended.

Rest your hands onto your thighs or knees,

Palms facing upward.

Sitting up tall with eyes closed.

We'll take a few breaths together,

In and out through the nose.

Breathe in.

Breathe out one.

Breathe in.

Breathe in.

Breathe out two.

Breathe out three.

Breathe in.

Breathe out four.

Breathe in.

Breathe out five.

Release the hand gesture and prepare for alternate nostril breathing.

Bring the left hand into Jnana Mudra.

Touch the index finger and thumb together.

Rest the back of your hand on your left knee or thigh.

With the right hand,

Tuck the first two fingers in.

Hold them down with the base of your thumb.

Thumb and fourth finger and fifth finger are extended.

Sitting up tall with the right elbow close to your ribs,

Shoulders relaxed,

Eyes closed.

Take a comfortable breath in through your nose.

Close the right nostril with your thumb and exhale through the left nostril.

Inhale through the left.

Close it with the fourth finger and exhale through the right nostril.

Inhale through the right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Inhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Inhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

Inhale right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Inhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

Inhale right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

Inhale right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

Inhale right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Inhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

Inhale right.

Close,

Exhale left.

Inhale left.

Close,

Exhale right.

And drop your right hand.

And we'll bring the hands back into Vyanavayu Mudra.

With the right hand,

Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the ring finger.

Other fingers extended.

With the left hand,

Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the middle finger.

Other fingers extended.

Rotate the hands downward.

Resting the wrists on your thighs or knees.

We'll take five breaths together.

Breathe in.

Breathe out one.

Breathe out two.

Breathe out three.

Breathe out four.

Breathe out five.

Release the hand gesture.

Gently open your eyes.
