Anapana means inhalation and exhalation of breathing. Sati means to be with. In this meditation, you focus on your breath which helps you to drift away from your thoughts and makes your mind calm and focused. It’s an easy way to get started with meditation that can be done anywhere at any time. Budha said that when you are with your breath, you cannot be with your thoughts. This practice—is said to be the form of meditation used to bring the Buddha to full awakening.

The form of meditation that we are going to do is called Anapanasati that was discovered by Buddha thousand of years ago.

Ana means in breath,

Apana means out breath,

Sati means to be with.

So Anapanasati means to be with your breath.

Buddha said that when you are with your breath,

You cannot be with your thoughts.

Let us begin.

Make yourself comfortable as much as possible.

Relax yourself completely.

Drop your shoulders and release any stress or worry that you are holding.

Cross your legs,

Clasp your fingers and close your eyes.

Let us shift our awareness from the world around us to the world inside us.

Inhale deeply and exhale completely.

Take another deep breath and release.

Now bring your awareness to your breath.

Let us generate a deep sense of gratitude for our breath as breath is our anchor and connects us to this life.

Let us stay with our breath,

Simple,

Natural,

Normal and easy breath.

Just observe,

Is your breath deep?

Is it shallow?

Is it warm or is it cold?

Whatever it is,

Accept it as it is.

Thoughts will come,

Let them come.

Just stay with your breath.

When we reach no thought state,

That is when the cosmic energy enters our body.

It is the divine healing intelligent energy.

It knows where to go and what to heal.

We just need to surrender to this divine intelligence and stay with our breath.

Just stay connected to the ease,

Peace and joy that resides within us.

When you stay with your breath,

You connect to your inner self.

That is where you find all the answers and all that you need.

Stay present and lose yourself to nothingness to become everything.

Feel your connection to the source energy as your source is the ultimate resource.

Now,

Wherever your mind is,

Bring it back to the present moment and your new consciousness.

Feel the surface beneath you.

Wiggle your toes.

Wiggle your fingers.

Rub your palms and place them gently on your eyes.

5 3 2 1 Slowly open your eyes and come back,

Feeling blissful and blessed.
