Sit or lay down,

Whatever is most comfortable for you.

In the centre of your stomach,

Imagine a bright ball of light,

Made of gulls,

Yellows and white rays of light.

And slowly,

The ball of light begins to get larger,

And the light expands.

And like a disco ball,

Light shines out in all directions,

And throughout your whole body,

Filling you completely with love,

Light,

Grace and blessings.

The light beams carry on shining out past your body,

And create a large ball of light that fully surrounds and encompasses you.

You,

In this ball of light,

Become transparent.

Now,

Imagine you're sat at a campfire.

It is dusk,

And you are in a very safe and serene forest.

You sit on a comfortable,

Mossy log and watch the fire.

You are sat on your own,

Watching the embers randomly fly around.

You try and keep your focus on one ember that is dancing,

As it swirls up into the sky and disappears.

You can hear the crackling of the fire,

And you can feel the log supporting your weight.

And imagine yourself putting both hands under your chin to support your head,

As you lean forward towards the fire to observe more closely.

A gentle warm heat warms your face and fingers,

And you can feel safe and relaxed.

As you meditate and focus on the burning logs in the campfire,

One inner voice chimes in with a comment.

This is dumb,

Or maybe they say,

What are you doing trying to meditate?

And you notice this voice,

And as it speaks,

Picture a set of lips moving,

As if a character is there,

But only as moving lips.

You watch and hear what it says,

But you do not react or move.

All you do is just observe the critical words it may say.

And as you acknowledge the moving lips and the words they speak,

They become silent.

Another voice,

My voice,

As the narrator of this meditation,

Becomes another mouth that is talking to you around the campfire,

And you can witness my voice and see the mouth move.

You are becoming conscious of the voices,

Inner and outer,

Within and without.

Another inner voice comes in with a comment,

And you can again imagine this voice as a set of moving lips,

And a mouth,

And witness them,

See them,

And hear them,

And they become still and silent.

Another thought enters,

And this voice is noticed.

And maybe this voice tries to interact with another of the voices around the fire.

Maybe they question what's going on.

You momentarily observe them.

You sit,

Head rested casually on your hands,

And observe the voices,

Adding nothing to their words,

Not responding in any way,

Simply allowing them to say what they wish to say.

The fire continues to crackle gently.

On occasion,

You may smile at the words spoken from the inner dialogues going on.

Every single thought that is spoken becomes a mouth around the campfire that you observe,

And gaze around at,

And then you return to gaze at the sparks,

Jumping from spot to spot in the campfire.

There could be a loud and dominant voice demanding to be heard,

Or a quiet small voice wanting your attention.

Simply sit and watch them around the fire,

Making no movement to leave,

Nor help any of them,

Nor comply with their demands.

Simply sit and watch the fire.

Observe feelings in your body,

Where there's any tension,

Or relief,

Anxiety,

Or joy.

Feel the log beneath you,

And return to gaze into the fire.

Give each voice that shows up a mouth and lips,

Until the only one left is the observer of all the voices and thoughts.

It's okay,

However many voices and thoughts want to show up.

They can each be given their own character around the campfire.

This helps you become more conscious about what is you,

And what are your thoughts.

Now,

Slowly coming back to the present,

And to the room you're in.

Feel what supports your body in the present.

It might be a pillow,

A bed,

A chair,

Or the floor.

Wiggle your toes and fingers.

Feel your legs.

Knees,

Thighs,

Hips,

Stomach,

Shoulders,

Head,

And feet.

Knees,

Thighs,

Hips,

Stomach,

Shoulders,

Head,

Elbows,

Wrists,

Hands.

Gently return to the present moment.

This meditation is now over.

Wishing you love,

Light,

Grace,

And blessings on your continued journey.
