Peace is natural. Often, it’s only a deep breath away, on the wings of the willingness to let go of the struggle and let what is natural and beautiful in you rise up. Let the warm golden river of peace wash through you, reminding you of who you are. “Tension is who you think you should be, relaxation is who you are.” - Chinese Proverb

Hello and welcome to this week's guided meditation.

To begin,

I invite you to find a comfortable place to sit and relax.

Somewhere you feel safe to land and let go.

And once you've found that place,

Make any adjustments you need to feel good.

Perhaps placing a pillow at your lower back or under each knee if you're sitting cross-legged.

Letting your shoulders roll back and down.

It might even feel good to do a few neck circles from left to right,

Right to left.

Working out any kinks,

Any tension.

Maybe even making some funny facial expressions.

Tightening up your face and letting go.

To release any tension you're holding in the jaw,

Cheeks,

Forehead.

And when you're ready,

Close down your eyes.

Take a deep,

Cleansing breath in and let it out with a sigh.

Settling even deeper into where you are.

Deeper into your body,

Your space.

Breathing into your heart.

Letting your mind be calm.

And allowing any thoughts to dissolve back into life,

Back to freedom.

As you rest here where you are,

See if you can get an overall sense of how you feel.

Your emotions,

Your energy,

Your body.

Taking away any stories and just noticing the sensations of what it feels like to be you here in this moment.

And again,

I invite you to take a nice deep breath in through your nose.

Hold it at the top and let it all go.

Let everything go.

And again,

Breathing deeply into the pit of your belly.

And let it go.

Letting any tension simply melt off of you.

Giving that energy back to life.

Continue to breathe deeply.

With every inhale allowing new life in and with every exhale surrendering more deeply into yourself,

Into this moment.

Dropping any heaviness like a stone into a deep basin of water.

Watching it float down,

Down,

Down.

Until it rests on the bottom in perfect peace.

As you rise up,

Up,

Up.

Floating just above the surface on a river of wellbeing.

Light,

Effortless,

Boundless and free.

Free to be you.

And as you rest here,

Open,

Unbounded,

Free.

Settle into the well of you.

Begin to feel a river of peace,

Like warm honey.

Begin to pour over the top of your head.

Washing you in soft golden light.

This process is effortless.

You don't need to do anything.

Be anything.

Just receive the warm light and peace this river brings as it pools at the top of your head.

Just washing over your being like a warm river of healing honey-like energy.

Feel it as it pours over the top of your head,

Your scalp,

Your brain,

Your ears,

The back of your head,

Bringing peace,

Relaxing your mind completely.

Feel this river of peace moving,

Washing over your forehead.

Gently undoing any knots of tension.

Getting a sense of lightness.

Feel as the river continues to move over your eyes,

Your cheeks,

Your teeth,

Your tongue,

Your lips,

Your jaw.

Getting a sense of deeper and deeper peace,

Deeper and deeper relaxation.

Now feel as the river moves down your neck,

Pooling across your collarbone,

Washing over your shoulders,

Your chest,

Your breasts,

Your shoulder blades.

Bringing a sense of heaviness and calm.

Undoing any knots of tension and opening up your cells to peace and ease.

Feel it pouring down your upper arms,

Lower arms,

And welling in your palms.

Small pools of healing,

Peaceful light.

Feel it wash over your abdomen,

Your lower back.

Feel it massaging your belly,

Bringing a deep feeling of safety,

Stability,

Homecoming deep in the center of you.

Feel it wash over your sacrum,

Your hips,

Your pelvis,

Again pooling as a warm basin of peace at the very base of your being.

A deep well of healing light.

Feel it washing down your upper thighs,

Over your knees and calves,

Washing over your ankles and the tops of your feet,

Your toes,

Pooling at the soles of your feet.

Two healing pools of warm light.

Peace,

Calm.

Feel this river continue to pour and wash over you,

From the tip of your head to the soles of your feet.

Pouring and pooling within you,

Relaxing you deeper and deeper into peace.

Deeper and deeper into calm.

Completely relaxed.

Slowly at ease.

Feel yourself open up to this deep,

Steady,

Eternal well of peace within you.

Be restored by it.

Nourished by it.

By the wholeness and steadiness of you.

And breathe.

In and out.

Slowly coming back into your space,

Back into your body.

Feeling the open spaces and sensations of your body.

Perhaps listening to your own heartbeat.

Feeling its pulse in your chest,

Your neck.

Opening up to your emotional body,

Your energy body.

Just noticing where you're at.

Feeling an overall sense of how you feel now.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Begin to bring some easy movement back into the body.

Perhaps taking a yawn.

Maybe wiggling the fingers and the toes.

Taking a deep breath into the base of your belly.

Connecting once more to that deep well of peace within you.

And as you exhale,

Let that same peace radiate off of you into your space.

Offering it a sense of serenity.

This peace is who you are.

It feels like home because it is.

These prompts and guidance are guideposts to this place of peace.

But the peace itself is you.

It's your creation.

An extension of your true nature.

Timeless.

Deeply present.

Whole and free.

This is who you are.

Take a breath in through your nose.

Out through your mouth with a sigh.

When you're ready,

Gently flutter open your eyes.

Bring the living reality of this peace of who you are into the light of day.

This app has been invaluable for me. When I was about to start treatment for cancer, one of the oncology nurses recommended it to help with sleep. I have used it for everything from sleep to healing, to helping during periods of anxiety or depression, and for abundance. It really has an impact, particularly when I’m consistent with it. I’ve used it nearly every day for the past year and I love that it’s free (I’ve given a couple of donations but I appreciate that I don’t have to pay a monthly subscription fee). I also love that there are so many different people whose meditations you can choose from, so you can find which ones resonate with you. It’s so great that the meditations are all different durations, so you can either settle in to long ones or, if that feels too much, you can do little five minute ones (or longer or shorter). I also find it helpful to be able to search the topic for what I need that day and I will always be served loads of results. Being able to bookmark the ones I like and create playlists is super helpful too. I HIGHLY recommend this app and have done so to many many people, friends and family plus strangers going through similar medical treatments to me.
