Welcome to your full moon practice.
Take a moment to establish a nice comfortable position for your body.
What is it that you require to create?
A yoga nidra nest,
Perhaps a blanket over your body to keep you warm,
A bolster or pillow underneath your knees,
Cover over your eyes.
So take the next few moments to make this process a little more helpful so there is no temptation during the practice to move.
Let's begin now by welcoming the rhythm of your breath,
Please.
Begin to feel the breath as it rises and gently migrates all the way down,
Breathing all the way up and gently breathing all the way down.
I'm going to introduce a pranayama called Durga,
Three-part breath.
Inhale to expand the belly,
The rib cage,
Upper chest.
Exhaling all three regions together.
Inhale belly,
Ribs,
Upper chest.
Feeling the full expansion of the lungs.
Exhaling completely.
Inhale belly,
Ribs,
Upper chest.
Together.
Exhaling all the way out,
Noticing the sounds,
Welcoming the sounds.
Feel the spine rising with each inhale,
With each exhale.
Just imagine you're emptying out and you might imagine now cleansing the whole field around the body.
Inhale,
Cleansing,
Purifying.
Exhaling,
Emptying out.
Inhale,
Cleansing,
Purifying.
Exhaling.
Cultivate a sense of presence.
Begin to feel into this presence,
Sensing the body.
What is your intention?
What's most needed for your own well-being,
Your own self-care,
Your own inner landscape of being.
Feeling into that.
Begin to invite the energy of the full moon.
Full moon,
Voluminous.
Feeling the energy of the full moon.
Emptying out,
Making space for your intention to land.
And you might even bring into your awareness desire for life.
What you are excited about.
Where in your life is there a deep heartfelt desire?
Bring that into your mind's eye.
Whatever it is that you are passionate about,
Whatever it is that you are cultivating,
Your own inner landscape.
And begin to feel that on a physical level so that you begin to express this intention as your true north.
Welcoming that internal state of your true north,
Whatever you're inviting in.
And perhaps you're inviting in a state of peace.
Begin to feel that sensation in the mind,
In the body.
Feeling the energy of the full moon breathing in.
Deep breaths in through the nose.
Feeling the energy expand as you breathe out.
Really anchoring this expression of your true north.
The foundation of your energy.
And you might imagine you're breathing in the luminous light of the full moon.
Breathing that energy in from the crown of the head all the way down to the soles of the feet.
Breathing in the energy of the full moon.
Light,
Luminous,
Expansion.
As you breathe out,
Anchoring the spine,
The back of the body.
Inhaling from above the head,
Moving all the way back down.
Grounding this expression of your body into the earth.
Three more breaths like that.
Inhaling full moon energy.
Exhaling down into the earth.
Feeling the energy ground you,
Hold you.
In the next few breaths you might invite something that you are excited about.
Something that brings you so much joy.
And feeling that expression now in this moment and giving heightened energy,
Full moon energy,
To what brings you pure joy,
So much happiness.
Inhale through the crown of the head and imagine this joyful energy moving down through the body.
Breathing in joy,
Full moon energy,
All the way down through the body.
Inhaling joy and exhaling,
Moving all the way down.
Bathing under the moonlight of inner peace,
Inner joy,
Inner love.
Anything that comes to mind,
Simply bathing here for the next few moments.
Begin now to slowly return your awareness to the space that has held you.
Bringing gentle movements back to the arms,
Into the legs,
Into the toes.
And you may bring your palms together and rub your palms,
Creating warmth.
Placing the warmth of your palms over your eyes,
Hiding the light back in.
Either choosing to stay here for a longer time or begin to flow back into your waking life.
