This is Rasa.
Welcome to tonight's sleep meditation.
Lie down and let the surface beneath you take your full weight.
Let your head grow heavy into the pillow.
Your legs fall a little apart.
Your arms rest open at your sides.
Feel the band holding you completely.
So that you are carrying nothing at all.
Breathe in slowly through your nose.
And let the breath out long and warm.
Again,
Breathe in.
And let it leave you even more slowly than before.
One more time,
Drawing the air down into your chest.
And releasing it with a soft,
Audible sigh.
With each breath out,
Feel yourself grow a little heavier.
Sinking a little deeper into the place where you rest.
The room around you softens now.
The edges of the walls grow faint and lose their hard lines.
And the space opens out into a white.
Warm darkness.
That reaches further than any room could hold.
You are resting at the very center of it.
Far above you and all around you,
The darkness is alive with slow moving points of color,
Drifting in the distance like the lights of far off shores seen across calm waters.
Each one of them carries something that is meant for you.
Here is the simple thing that happens tonight.
The heavier and more settled your body becomes,
The more these distant lights are drawn toward you.
Your rest is a quiet kind of pull.
As you soften and let go.
The things you have been reaching for during your days begin,
All on their own,
To move closer.
Tonight you do nothing but relax and receive.
And sink towards sleep.
While the wider world quietly rearranges itself around your stillness.
So let us begin with your eyes resting behind your closed lids.
Soften the small muscles that surround them.
Let the space between your brows smooth and grow wide and open.
As your eyes relax.
They begin to open inwards.
Like a window clearing off mist.
Until a view appears.
Out in the darkness.
Let your gaze settle on one point of colour.
The color you most want to wake up inside of.
This is the life you want to see when you open your eyes on the mornings to come.
There is no need to decide its shape.
Simply look toward it with your soft inner eyes.
And feel it begin to drift down toward your face.
It settles gently over your eyes and sinks in.
Washing the dark behind your lens with its colour.
The life you long to see becomes part of the way you see.
Let your eyes grow heavier,
Satisfied and full of that colour.
Now let your attention move to your nose.
And to the soft breath passing through it.
With your next breath in,
A scent arrives on the air.
The smell of a place you would love to wake up in.
Perhaps it is early morning there.
And something is being baked nearby.
Perhaps it is rain landing on warm Earth.
Or salt off the sea.
Or a window left open beside a garden.
Let the scent choose itself.
Breathe it in.
And feel it travel to the back of your throat.
And the down into your chest.
Telling your whole body that you are already there.
Already home.
Each breath you take draws it deeper inside you.
Your nose softens.
And your whole face grows warm and pleasantly heavy.
Let your jaw loosen now.
Your lips part softly.
Your tongue,
Resting low and easy in your mouth.
A taste begins to gather there.
Slowly.
The flavor of a life that is good to you.
It might be sweet,
Like ripe fruit.
Or rich and warming.
Or bright and clean like cool spring water.
It is the taste of being well.
Of having more than enough.
Of days that feed you.
Let it spread across your tongue.
And down into your throat.
Swallow it.
And feel it settle warm in the center of you.
Your mouth relaxes.
Content and quiet.
Bring a soft awareness to your throat.
The narrow passage where your voice lives.
Let it open and grow spacious.
There is something inside you that wants to be made.
A song,
A word.
A thing that only you can bring into this world.
Through your voice and your hands.
Feel it gathering low in your throat as a gentle vibration.
Warm and alive.
The very first stirring of something you are going to create.
You do not need to name it or finish it tonight.
Simply feel it arrive and rest there,
Waiting patiently,
While your throat grows loose and at ease.
Let your attention flow down through your arms now.
All the way into your open hands.
Feel your fingers grow heavy.
And your palms soften.
And turn slightly toward the sky.
Into each palm,
Something settles with a gentle weight.
The texture of a life you want to hold and shape with your own two hands.
Perhaps it feels smooth or warm.
Or faintly alive and moving like rich soil or clay.
Or another hand resting in yours.
Feel its weight pressed tenderly into your palms.
A real and entirely yours to work with.
Your fingers curl around it just enough to know that it is there.
Then loosen again.
Glad to be holding it.
Now let your awareness rest in the centre of your chest,
Behind the breastbone.
Where your heart keeps its slow and faithful rhythm.
With each beat.
Feel your chest grow softer and more open.
Out in the darkness,
The brightest of all the colors begins to move towards you.
The one that holds what you love most.
The work and the people who light you from the inside.
Watch it draw closer.
Growing larger and warmer as it comes.
Until it sinks into your chest.
And spreads its warmth across your heart.
Feel it flow down into your belly.
And out along your ribs.
This is the thing you are here to love.
Let it fill the whole space of your chest.
And notice how willingly your heart makes room for it.
Let that warmth sink lower.
Down into your belly.
Rest your attention here,
Just below your navel.
And feel this soft part of you grow round and easy with each breath.
Something pulls here now.
Heavy and calm.
Like warm water settling slowly into a basin.
It is the feeling of being held.
Of being cared for.
Of having all that you need and more.
There is nothing left to chase from this place.
You are provided for.
Feel your belly rise and fall.
Slow and full.
The centre of you growing weighted and safe.
Now let everything pour down through your hips.
Your thighs.
Your knees.
Down into your feet at the end of the bed.
Feel your feet grow heavy and warm.
The soles of your feet soften and open.
And through them far off places begin to draw close.
The roads you want to walk one day.
The shores you want to stand upon.
The ground of lands your feet have not yet touched.
Feel the warmth of distant sun.
The cool smoothness of a foreign stone.
The soft give of a path that is waiting for your steps.
The whole wide world is moving toward the soles of your feet.
Quietly offering itself to you.
Your feet grow heavier still.
Rooted and ready.
Now feel your whole body at once.
The color resting over your eyes.
The scent living in your chest.
The taste on your tongue.
The warm vibration in your throat.
The weight cradled in your hands.
The love flooding your heart.
The fullness in your belly.
The whole world gathered at your feet.
Feel all of it held within this one body.
Laying here.
Warm and complete.
And now,
Feel it begin to move.
Everything you have drawn into yourself starts to flow slowly through you.
A warm current rises from your feet.
Gathers the fullness of your belly and love in your heart.
Draws up the weight in your hands.
Moves through your throat and your mouth.
Fills your face and your eyes.
Then circles back down.
Around and through.
The whole life you long for.
Flowing through the whole body you are.
There is no longer any space between you and the things you want.
They are moving through you.
Becoming you.
As natural as the blood in your veins.
This is what it feels like to be in alignment.
The life and the body moving as one current.
Rest here now.
The heaviest and most settled point in all of that white darkness.
And feel.
Far out beyond the edges of your body.
The rest of the world beginning to shift.
The lights you did not draw in are moving too.
Sliding into new positions.
Arranging themselves around your stillness into a pattern that fits the life now flowing through you.
You do not need to watch them.
You do not need to do a single thing.
The more deeply you rest.
The more freely all of it moves.
Let your breath grow slower and softer.
Let the warm current through your body grow quiet.
Sinking with you towards sleep.
The world keeps gently rearranging itself around you through the whole night.
Drawing toward your settled center,
Everything that belongs to the life you have welcomed here tonight.
Sink now.
All the way down.
Let sleep carry you into its deep and gentle water.
And while you sleep.
Everything you have gathered tonight.
Settle softly into place.
And the world rearranges itself.
Completely and in your favor,
To meet you in the morning.
Sleep well.
Dear and sweet soul.
