Climb aboard a box car on an old steam train that is preparing to depart from a small country station in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy the scenery as you are carried through the beautiful countryside, watching as the sun sets and turns to night. As you allow yourself to be carried off to sleep on this sleepy train ride, allow the sleep affirmations that follow, to carry you even deeper into a restful, restorative, and healing sleep. Welcome to this guided sleep meditation.

My name is Leslie and I'm grateful that you have chosen me to guide you into a restful night's sleep.

Preparing the mind and the body now to take a relaxing train ride through a beautiful countryside.

And as you drift deeper into sleep,

Allow the sleep affirmations that follow to sink deeply into the unconscious mind.

So just take a moment now to make yourself as comfortable as possible,

Just finding yourself in your most favourite position.

Cuddled into your blankets and your pillow,

Just allow yourself a moment to just settle and to breathe deeply.

And know that any time along the way if you need to reposition yourself to get into a more comfortable position,

You can easily do so.

I'm just beginning now to allow yourself to let go of all the tension that has built up throughout the day.

Any worries that accumulated seem to lose their power now and the intensity disappears as you settle down for the night.

Just feeling cozy now.

Allow your breath to begin to slow down with each breath that you take.

Taking in a nice full deep breath.

And slowly exhale.

Another nice deep breath in.

And slowly exhale.

One more nice deep breath in.

And exhaling.

Emptying the lungs fully and completely as you now just allow the breath to return to its normal state.

And if you haven't already done so,

Just take this moment now to gently close those eyes as you begin to observe your mind and how it's thinking of various things about life,

About your day.

Observe how perhaps visuals of moments flash into your mind and maybe you feel them.

Maybe you're able to hear sounds with your thoughts as they present themselves.

But just letting images from your life fade now.

Allowing those feelings,

Those sounds to just fade as you allow yourself to sink deeply into the supportive surface beneath you.

And I'd like you to bring to your imagination a moment of relaxation.

And I'd like you to bring to your imagination that you are now walking towards a very long train that's parked along the countryside.

The engine of the train is stopped at an old station in the middle of nowhere.

And the long train extends into the horizon.

And as you walk several cars back,

You notice an open car.

And you see that the workers are getting ready to depart.

Steam is billowing out of the engine.

And so you hop onto the open car and you find that it's filled with fresh hay.

But you find that if you have any allergies,

This hay doesn't bother you in any way,

Shape or form.

The scent of it is refreshing and relaxing.

And now you hear the train horn blowing and the sounds of distant voices calling,

And you lay down in the hay and it's perfectly comfortable.

And you are positioned in a way that you are gazing out the open door,

Looking out into nature.

And as you lie back waiting for the train to begin to roll,

You notice that you are now sitting in a very comfortable position.

You look around the wagon,

Noticing all the details,

Seeing all that you can see,

Hearing all that you can hear.

The weather is perfect and it's soothing.

Relapse you can sense the smell of hay and the country breeze.

Just noticing everything as vividly as you can.

Seeing,

Feeling,

Hearing,

Touching.

You feel a slight vibration as the train powers up.

You can hear its mighty engine hissing as it builds enough power to pull the massive weight.

Soothing station bells begin to ring,

Alerting that the train is leaving the station.

The car that you're in now begins to roll very slowly.

You take a deep breath of relief because you know that you are in for a long and relaxing ride.

Vibrations under you are getting stronger as the train is increasing in speed.

You hear the relaxing sounds of the wheels turning.

Clickety-clack,

Clickety-clack,

Clickety-clack.

The station bells get louder as the car that you're in passes by the small station in the middle of nowhere.

And then they pass by and then the ringing sounds get fainter in the distance until they completely disappear.

The vibrations under you are strong yet soothing.

And they even out into a nice relaxing hum as the train is reached a safe and steady speed for this long relaxing journey.

As you gaze outside through the open door,

It's still light but it will soon be sunset.

You can see out both sides of the train car making for the most beautiful views.

You see the ground close to the train passing by very quickly.

The trees nearby passing a little slower.

And in the distance you see rolling hills and mountains moving by ever so slowly as you ride along on this beautiful relaxing train.

And as you look out into this beautiful natural scene,

You find yourself relaxing even more deeply.

And the sun is beginning to meet the horizon,

Setting behind a soft rolling mountain range in the distance.

The colours that this sunset begins to create for you are breathtaking.

Pinks and yellows of the sky fade into the bright blue,

Then into the deep blue of the night sky inching in.

The gentle mountain range gives off hues of greens and blues and greys.

And the sundown is reflecting colours of purple mixed with oranges now as it dips below the mountains.

Meadows of warm golden colours are passing by the train and every now and then an old giant oak tree passes you by,

Standing proudly in the sprawling fields of gold.

And this view is mesmerizing and you are not thinking about anything other than the beauty that you are witnessing.

And you're becoming more and more deeply relaxed,

Feeling grateful for these beautiful moments in the twilight upon this sleepy train.

You're so comfortable,

Ready for a restful night's sleep.

The aura of the sun is slowly fading away and the night sky is chasing away the sunset.

Your eyes are becoming heavy with sleep as you watch the day turn to darkness.

The wide meadows have passed by and the train is entering a forest.

The weather is cool now that the sun has gone down,

But it's perfectly comfortable.

And you can smell the trees as they close in around the train.

The dark has settled in,

Yet there's a crisp moonlight peeking through the trees as they pass by.

The hum and the resonance of the train are very soothing,

Making you even more sleepy.

Your eyes are closed now and occasionally you open them for just a moment to gaze around the car and the view into nature.

And now you hear yourself say as you drift and float on this dreamy train ride,

Sleep comes and it restores me and it heals me.

My bed is my sanctuary.

I am grateful for my mattress.

My pillow,

My sheets and covers that keep me warm and cozy as I drift into this restful sleep.

My mind and body surrender into sleep knowing everything is well.

I am grateful for my body that carries me through my days.

My body is relaxed and ready for healing and rejuvenating sleep.

Today I did my best.

I am ready to be recharged.

I look forward to tomorrow and all the new opportunities it brings.

My dreams are a place of positivity and hope.

I believe in myself.

Sleeping is a natural state for me.
