Welcome to this guided sleep meditation.
My name is Leslie and I am grateful that you have chosen me to guide you into a blissful night's sleep.
Before we get started,
Just take a few moments to prepare yourself,
To prepare your body and mind,
To release and let go of the day's cares and concerns,
To release and let go of the tension that is gathered in your body throughout the day.
If you find it helpful,
You may wish to introduce a calming or relaxing scent,
Such as lavender,
Clary sage,
Or sweet marjoram,
By diffusing the essential oil close to your bed.
You may find that the calming vibration of amethyst when placed under your pillow will assist in clearing your mind of all the clutter that has accumulated throughout your day.
And now,
As you lie peacefully and quietly in your favorite position,
Ready for sleep,
With your favorite pillow cradling and supporting your head and neck,
Feel the texture of your comfortable sheets and send a silent thank you to the universe for the bed beneath you,
The bedding covering you,
The roof over your head,
And with a feeling of gratitude,
Recognize how truly blessed you are.
Breathe deeply and slowly,
Feeling your chest and abdomen expand with each inhalation and contract on the exhalation,
Expanding,
Contracting,
In,
And out.
Feel your body releasing,
Unwinding,
Relaxing deeper and deeper as you breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
And as you breathe in and breathe out,
Your mind becomes still,
Peaceful,
Like a crystal clear lake on a calm and windless day.
Your thoughts hold less and less significance,
And the sound of my voice and the soothing music hold more and more significance.
And as you drift,
Drift,
Drift on a cloud,
And as you drift,
Breathing in and breathing out,
A calming purple mist appears above you,
And as you breathe in and breathe out,
The mist begins moving closer,
And as the mist moves closer,
You feel its calming energy breathing in and breathing out,
Pulling that calming purple mist closer and closer.
And on your next inhalation,
The purple mist enters your body through the top of your head,
Feeling its calming,
Soothing energy,
Calming,
Soothing,
Relaxing the muscles in your head,
Your scalp,
Your forehead,
Cheeks,
Feeling the muscles in your face,
Your jaw,
Your neck relax deeper and deeper as that purple mist moves down over your shoulders,
Down your arms and hands,
Down into the tips of your fingers,
Feeling that purple mist flow down your back,
Down into your chest,
Spreading its calming,
Relaxing energy through your stomach,
Your abdomen,
Over your hips,
Your thighs,
Down over your knees and ankles,
Into your feet,
And all the way to the very tips of your toes.
And off in the distance,
You hear the sound of a waterfall,
And as you turn towards the sound,
You see a set of ten solid stone steps leading down to a path,
And you see the purple mist dancing in front of you,
Beckoning you to follow.
Ten,
Down,
Down,
Down the steps.
Nine,
Your unconscious mind taking you deeper and deeper.
Eight,
Relaxing more and more.
Seven,
The distant sound of the waterfall.
Six,
Lulling you into a blissfully calm state.
Five,
The calming purple mist enticing you.
Four,
Down,
Down,
Down.
Three,
Into a deep,
Deep sleep.
Two,
Down the steps.
One,
To the path.
You find yourself surrounded by a beautiful forest,
And you breathe deeply,
Breathing in the earthy scent of the damp earth beneath your feet.
You feel the cushion of pine needles creating a soft bed beneath you.
You take in the fresh scent of pine trees as you look up into the towering canopy above you,
Feeling the dampness in the air.
Breathing in the mysteries of the forest as they engulf your senses,
Stirring an ancient wisdom within your soul,
Sinking deeper and deeper into that wisdom.
As the purple mist dances along the forest path in front of you,
It leads you deeper and deeper,
Down,
Down the path,
Taking you closer and closer to the sound of the waterfall,
The sound of birdsong all around you,
The gentle sound of chipmunks as they scurry along the forest floor.
After a time,
You come to a clearing,
The sound of the waterfall filling your ears,
Bringing a feeling of peace and contentment.
As you step out from beneath the canopy of trees,
You're surprised to see that night has fallen upon the forest,
And a peaceful darkness surrounds you.
You breathe deeply as you look up into the blackness of the night sky,
Filled with an infinite number of stars,
Twinkling brightly in the darkness.
You hear the water from the waterfall falling down,
Down,
Down into the deepness of the pool at its base,
The deep darkness of the sky,
The deep darkness of the pool of water,
The gentle,
Relaxing sound of crickets chirping in the stillness of the forest,
The stillness of your mind,
The stillness of your body,
The stillness of your soul.
As you release your consciousness to dance among the stars deeper,
Deeper,
Deeper,
Asleep.
