Great job getting yourself ready for a good night's sleep.

To help you rest,

I invite you to make a movie in your mind as I tell you a story.

To help get ready for the story,

Try taking three deep breaths with me.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Now close your eyes,

Get comfortable,

And use your imagination to make a movie in your mind.

Picture yourself as the main character of the movie in your mind.

Imagine you are going for a walk in your favorite place.

Where will you walk?

Perhaps you'll walk to your favorite park or playground,

Or perhaps you're going to get some ice cream or pizza.

Wherever you decide to walk,

Picture yourself walking slowly with a big smile on your face.

Notice what you see around you.

What do you see?

What do you hear?

What do you smell?

Imagine yourself arriving in your favorite place.

What does it feel like to be there?

Find a comfortable place to sit down and rest in your favorite place.

As you rest in the safe place,

Imagine yourself falling asleep for the night.

To help you sleep,

I invite you to relax your whole body.

To help you relax,

Picture your favorite color lighting up in different parts of your body as I say them.

Let's begin.

Picture your right toes light up in your favorite color.

Your right foot.

Right leg.

Right side.

Right arm.

Right hand.

Right fingers.

Your whole right side is lighting up in your favorite color.

Now picture your left toes light up in your favorite color.

Your left foot.

Left leg.

Left side.

Left arm.

Left hand.

Left fingers.

Your whole left side is lighting up in your favorite color.

Now picture your head lighting up.

Your forehead.

Eyes.

Nose.

Ears.

Mouth.

And neck.

Your whole head.

Now picture your whole body lighting up in your favorite color.

Your whole body.

Your whole body.

Now that your whole body is relaxed,

Begin counting your breaths backward inside your head from 5 to 1 with me like this.

Breathe in.
