Follow The Light

As human beings during troubling times, we can’t help but absorb the negativity that’s happening in our world. This can easily leave us feeling internally and externally blocked, thus exhausted. In this practice, we will expand our breathing to open up the flow of energy throughout ourselves. To welcome a sense of spaciousness and access our true essence, our light. And this light-filled presence always holds the key to our own healing and the healing of all~

Transcript

Take a comfortable seat.

Gently rest your hands on your legs with your palms facing down.

Start your practice by gently swaying from side to side for just a few moments as the way to locate the middle in between your two sitting bones.

Now let your body become still.

Evenly ground through both hips.

Feel the support of whatever you're sitting on.

Rise up through your spine and into the crown of your head.

And softly close your eyes.

Become aware of your breathing.

Keep your mouth softly closed and release your lower jaw.

A few gentle breaths here.

As human beings during troubling times,

We can't help but absorb the negativity that's happening in our world.

All of the grief,

Loss,

And sadness that we are experiencing can easily leave us feeling both internally and externally blocked,

Thus exhausted.

Yet our practice is always here to support us.

As we expand our breathing,

We open up the flow of energy throughout ourselves to clear out what's needed and welcome a sense of spaciousness.

And this spaciousness is always what holds the key to our own healing and the healing of all.

Keeping your eyes softly closed,

Lift your chin level with the floor,

Creating the conditions for your breath to more easily pass.

Continue with gentle breathing.

And as you do so,

Visualize your breath as a bright white light,

Gently flowing in and flowing out.

Again,

Your breath as a beautiful,

Iridescent white light.

Now follow your breath,

This light,

As it enters in through your nose,

Flows down your throat,

And then travels into the space of your belly,

Where it organically makes its way all around the shape of you.

As you track this white light's path and process,

Notice how it becomes brighter,

Stronger,

More vibrant.

And as a result of this light,

There is also a vibrancy occurring within you.

This light feeds and floods every physical cell of you,

Every tributary,

All of the folds of you as well.

This light has an intelligence.

It knows where to go,

What to do,

And how to proceed.

This light now expands beyond the physical shape of you,

Out into the circumference of your space,

Where it forms a sphere,

And you are held within it.

Again,

You are held within this beautiful,

Radiant white light,

So supported and so well cared for.

Breathing softly,

Allow this light to be of support to you for just a few more moments.

Now allow this light to gently make its way into the part of you that tends to hold tension,

Resistance,

Or collect pain.

This could be mind,

Body,

Or heart.

As you attend to this region,

Bring one hand to gently rest there.

Let your hand tenderly and softly support you as though you would hold an infant with much love.

Send the most pristine current of your breathing,

This light,

Into this whole space.

You are sourcing this light as the way to help loosen and untie all inner knots.

As we bring our own kind attention to the places within ourselves that we inherently tend to close,

We automatically soften and open,

Where we understand that this resistance is simply our body's way of trying to protect itself.

Through this awareness,

We can allow ourselves to soften even more.

Stay for a few moments here with your hand supporting you in this way,

And notice a palpable quiet that's emerging from way deep inside of you,

Softly breathing and smiling.

Gently release your hand down and turn both palms to face up as the gesture of receiving.

Notice through this process how your inner spaces are so beautifully expanding.

Moving towards the parts of ourselves in need of care is the way we open to our true essence.

As we acknowledge,

We heal,

To return to our divinity and awaken compassion.

This is how we stay elevated amid difficult times.

Sense how there is a very different quality in your being state where there's a clear recalibration occurring.

Inner body serene,

Outer body soft.

Observe your pure majestic form for just a few more moments while continuing to breathe slowly all the while.

Take a moment now to reflect on a situation in your life that feels challenging for you.

We highlight this situation as the way to extend healing here.

Your calm collected presence is always so supportive to someone else's contracted state.

All we need is to become aware of the energy we are holding within ourselves as the way to help others in their softening.

Where there's nothing we need to say or do,

We simply are this soft and gentle awareness.

Turn one hand to face outwards,

Sending a healing flow of compassion into this context.

Sending compassion into this situation here now.

Completely release your hand down.

Through this offering,

Notice how you receive.

Allow any remaining negativity to be completely released here now with intention for all to be transmuted back to love.

Bringing forth the deepest and truest version of yourself.

We tend to think of ourselves as a human moving through life.

Yet as we expand in these ways,

We remember what we truly are as spirit is light-filled awareness.

We are radiant light.

Through this remembrance,

We also know that it's through compassion that we can hold our own pain,

The pain of those closest to us,

And the pain of our world.

To be healing presence for all.

Let us now extend healing to our great planet.

Turn both palms to face outwards and gently lift the back of your heart upwards.

Here we send our healing presence to all of humanity.

To all who are suffering,

In need or in pain,

We send compassion.

Blessings to all creatures.

To all natural forces.

The landscape,

The seascape,

The wild,

The cosmos.

Sending compassion at its highest resonance to all here now.

Smiling,

Bring both hands to gently rest on your heart in reverence.

Welcome any and all wisdom here,

Allowing this information to be received in just the right timing.

Where you are called to serve as this grace.

Fold your hands in prayer in front of your heart and gently bow your head to this clear,

Open,

Spacious vessel and to every opportunity we create for ourselves to be healing presence for all.
