Here's another story from the Gateway,

The Book of Fables.

It's available on Amazon.

Com Kindle.

It's by me,

Premisuta Janet Hobbs.

And I wrote it because sometimes as a parent,

I would get caught in my head,

Try to be perfect,

Listen to advice,

And then just miss the obvious,

Just miss the heart of things.

And so I wrote the story in total frustration at the time.

It's called Watch Out for Advice.

A beautiful and intelligent woman who despaired over one of her children sought out a holy man for advice.

She told the sage all about the boy,

His trouble at school,

The drinking,

And worse,

His lack of personal hygiene.

He'd just been in trouble his whole life,

She said.

She also said a psychic had told her while she was pregnant that the child would be a boy and he would be difficult.

The psychic said it was karma.

What about the karma aspect?

Certainly the prophecy had stuck in her mind a lot.

She had thought of it often and events had proved the psychic right,

But she still didn't know what to do about her son.

The monk appeared very moved.

He stood up and looked searchingly at the woman as big tears streamed down his cheeks.

Love him,

Just love him for God's sake,

And then love him more.

And then begin to forgive yourself.

The monk touched her compassionately.

For laboring under a curse for so long,

The woman continued beginning to sob.

She sobbed and sobbed heartbroken.

Nothing had touched her in years.

Certainly her son hadn't.

And that's a story about how our minds get too strong and they dam up our hearts.

Thanks for listening.

Thank you at Janet what a touching story. How old were you when you wrote that?

Seems to be a running theme in many things I’ve heard and read lately, all we need is love, we are love… I really enjoyed this story. We try to control everything in our lives and end up becoming so critical and no fun. This story was so simple and powerful. Thank you. 🙏🏾🌸🙏🏾🤗❤️🤗
