Hello and welcome to this quick nervous system reset practice,
Working with the eyes to self-regulate the nervous system.
So to begin,
I would like to invite you to interlace your hands.
And place them behind your head so that your thumbs are at the base of your skull.
And then keeping your face forward,
We're going to bring the eyes all the way to the right side.
So you'll find that you'll feel a nice stretch in both eyes.
Bringing your eyes all the way over and you can find a spot to focus your eyes on,
Just giving them a nice stretch.
And let's take several breaths together here.
And by holding the base of your skull and bringing the eyes over all the way to the right and then to the left.
This realigns the C1 and C2.
Which then increases blood flow to your brainstem and also to your vagus nerve.
Beautiful,
Bringing the eyes back to the center.
Closing down your eyes just for a moment.
One more deep breath here.
Breathing all the way down to your belly.
And opening the eyes again,
We're going to bring the eyes all the way over to the left side.
So finding a place to fix both of your eyes on,
So you're feeling a nice stretch that feels good for you.
And with this practice,
Often you'll find that your body will naturally do either a yawn,
A swallow.
Or you might just feel your body naturally doing a deeper breath and exhale.
And sometimes you might start to notice a little bit of saliva pooling in your mouth.
And these are all signs that your nervous system is starting to regulate.
Stretching those eyes out to the left side.
One more deep breath over here.
And beautiful,
Bringing your eyes back to the center,
Closing down your eyes,
Bringing your hands gently down to your lap or finding a place to put your hands that feels good for you and just relaxing.
We're going to take a few breaths here just to integrate.
Breathing in all the way down to your belly.
Exhaling twice as long.
Breathing all the way down to your belly,
Softening and relaxing your belly.
And exhaling all the way until you feel your abdominal muscles starting to contract.
One more deep breath all the way down to the bottom of your belly.
And a full exhale,
Letting go of the old,
Making way for the new until you feel your abdominal muscles beginning to contract.
And just taking a moment to check in with yourself.
Noticing if there are any shifts.
Any changes?
In your body.
In your nervous system.
In your breathing.
And just taking a moment to honour yourself.
For doing this practice to resource yourself.
And build your resiliency.
And if you would like to go deeper on this journey of learning how to become an active operator of your nervous system.
I'd love to invite you to join me on my 10-day course,
