Let's begin.
Step 1.
Notice.
This is where we check in with ourselves,
See how we're doing,
Notice how we're feeling today.
So just hold that question.
How am I?
How does it feel to be in my body?
How is my mood?
How am I today?
And then we're going to move to step 2.
And this is where we take our attention from how we're feeling and we bring it to how we are breathing.
So just focus now on your own breath.
Just start to notice how your breath moves in and out through your body.
Do you breathe through your nose or through your mouth or through both?
And maybe if you would like to you can place your hand on your chest and just begin to notice how it rises and falls.
And now we're going to connect your breath to your heart and we do this by imagining that every breath that you take in goes all the way down through your lungs and to your heart.
And every breath out comes all the way up from your heart through your lungs and out into the world.
And your breath and your heartbeat recognize each other and when they meet like this they create this wonderful sense of peace and relaxation for you to be in.
And then from this very nice calm place we're going to move to step 3 which is activate.
And today we are going to talk about belonging.
Every one of us wants to feel like we belong.
We all want our classmates to accept us and to like us.
This is a very natural thing for all of us but the truth is that we already belong.
We always belong because we are part of the earth and the earth is a part of us.
We are connected to every living being on this planet and we're all made of the same elements.
You belong simply because you are alive.
Because you are a human being.
But the person that you belong to most of all is yourself.
Think of this.
You are your own home.
Sometimes if we try a little bit too hard to fit in we can stop feeling at home in ourselves.
And that's why when you have a thought or a feeling or an emotion it's really important to pay attention to it to notice it.
Especially if others want you to do something that doesn't make you feel happy deep down.
Really pay attention to how you feel to how at home you're feeling in yourself.
And as you're sitting or lying here just let yourself drop deeply into this lovely sensation of feeling at home in yourself as we move to step four.
Peace beam.
To peace beam is to wish absolutely and from the bottom of your heart good for yourself and for the people around you.
It's like taking all that is the very best and the brightest in you and beaming it out into the world for your own benefit and for the benefit of everybody who meets you in a day.
So now that you've taken these few minutes to feel really at home in yourself imagine that that wonderful feeling of comfort and belonging can be beamed out from you and will make the world a little bit better today.
