Welcome to Peacebeam.
Let's begin.
Step one,
Notice.
Just tune into yourself for a few moments and notice how you're feeling,
Where your emotions are,
How is your mood today,
How does your heart feel and just notice the answer that comes back from yourself.
Step two,
Breathe.
Just rest your attention now on your breath and just begin to watch it moving in and out of your chest.
Feel the air move and just start to tune to your natural rhythm of breathing.
Just notice it and be here for a few moments,
Breathing.
And now we'll connect your breath to your heart and we do this by just imagining your breath moving in and out of your heart and just begin to feel the rhythm of those two things,
Your breath and your heart,
Connecting and as they do so just drop into that space that they create that feeling of ease.
I relax.
Step three,
Activate.
Steve Wright famously remarked,
It's a small world but I wouldn't want to paint it and this makes me laugh every time.
The image of starting with a can of paint and a brush,
I mean where would you begin?
At your front door?
Maybe on your road?
What colour?
I don't know,
Just try and picture that,
Your first dip into the paint and the first brush and then all of that to go.
How would you even begin to contemplate the Himalayas?
And it sounds funny because it seems absurd but perhaps it's not.
When we consider that every day we go out into the world and we paint it with our energy,
With the colours and textures of our inner world,
With our kindness or lack of it,
With our gentle tolerance or lack of it and we are powerful whether we are aware of it or not,
We are beaming our energy into the world and the world then takes on its colour,
Its tone and its ripples which go on far beyond our ability to see,
Far beyond the Himalayas.
And this is the why of Peace Beam,
It is a moment in your day when you pause and you choose the colour that you will paint your world with.
You choose how you will impact everyone you meet,
You choose to be a beam of peace.
Step 4 Beam.
To Peace Beam is to wish unconditionally and from the deepest part of your being unrestricted good for yourself and for others.
It is the basic building block of peace and as you are mastering the art you will change the world that you live in.
So today to anchor the practice choose the colour of your peace beams and visualise that moving out from you in every direction,
Painting the world with your warmth.
