So welcome,
Today we enter a space that goes beyond words,
A space where your voice becomes a bridge between your body and your truth,
Between what's being held in and what's ready to move.
You don't need to sing,
You don't need to perform,
This isn't about sounding good,
It's about sounding real.
So this is a space to let your soul speak through breath,
Sound and vibration.
Let's begin.
Find a position that lets you feel both supported and upright.
You can sit on the floor,
A cushion or a chair.
Let your spine rise naturally,
Let your belly be soft and gently close your eyes.
Begin by meeting your breath.
No need to change it at first,
Just feel it.
Feel the inhale enter your nose,
Feel the exhale leave your body.
Inhale through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth.
And now,
Start to gently deepen the breath as you inhale through the nose,
Exhale gently through the mouth,
Maybe with a sigh.
And do that again,
Inhale.
And exhale with sound a little longer this time.
You're starting to open a door here,
A door that leads from your internal world out into the open air.
So now bring your attention to your throat.
What do you notice there?
Is it tight,
Open,
Numb,
Buzzing?
Let your breath travel into the throat,
Not to force anything but to listen.
And begin to introduce gentle sound.
Start with a sigh,
Open mouth and soft.
Inhale through the nose and exhale with the ha.
And let your breath carry the sound again,
Inhale and ah,
Feeling the vibration.
This is not about volume,
It's about contact.
Let's see if you can feel your sound vibrating in your chest,
Your throat,
Your mouth.
And now bring the sound a little higher toward a hum,
So inhale through the nose and exhale with a gentle hum,
Lips closed.
Letting the hum vibrate through your face,
Your sinuses,
Your skull.
Keep going in your own rhythm,
Hum.
Feeling the vibrations moving through your body.
Now place one hand on your chest,
The other on your belly.
And let your sound drop into these places.
So try a deeper sound now,
Maybe a tone that starts low in the belly.
So maybe an ah or an oh,
Whatever feels natural,
Let your body lead.
Maybe your sound wants to be soft.
Maybe it wants to be shaky.
Maybe it cracks or trembles or changes,
That's okay.
There is no wrong sound,
There's only truth.
Now ask gently,
What part of me has been silenced?
What is my body trying to say?
And what sound wants to come through me today?
And let your next few breaths include sound,
Whatever sound feels true.
You might growl or moan or hum or whisper.
You might say words like yes or no or stop or please or help or more.
Whatever it is,
Let it come from the inside.
Let it rise from the belly,
From the chest,
From the pelvis,
From the feet.
This is not a performance,
This is a release.
This is a remembering.
So take the next minute or two to explore freely,
Deep inhales and sounding on the exhale.
Letting that sound come from the core.
And now begin to slow it down.
Allowing your breath to soften.
Letting the sound settle.
Bring your hands to your heart and feel the resonance that remains.
You don't need to do anything more.
You've already expressed something sacred.
So now repeat inwardly,
My voice is welcome.
My truth is safe here.
Sound is how my soul breathes.
I do not need permission to express.
And let these words echo in your body.
Now gently return to silence.
Notice how your body feels.
Notice what has shifted.
And as we come toward a close,
Take a deep breath,
Inhaling,
Filling your belly,
Your chest,
Your throat.
And exhale with a soft final sound,
Whatever it is.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Have a stretch if you like.
And when you do feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
You're back with more of your truth now intact.
And your voice a little more alive.
Thank you for joining me today.
