Welcome.
Today's practice is the breath of fire.
It's a rapid breath through the nose where the exhale is pumped by the belly and the inhale takes care of itself.
A quick practice.
Nice to use at a time when you might need to sharpen up fast before a meeting or a training session or at a time when your head is in a fog.
Skip this one if you're pregnant,
Have high blood pressure,
A heart condition,
Epilepsy or recent abdominal surgery.
Don't do it in water or while driving.
And if you get dizzy,
Stop and breathe normally.
So let's sit up tall,
Hands on your knees,
Gently closing the eyes.
Place one hand on your belly for a moment.
And breathe out sharply through your nose by snapping the belly in towards your spine.
Then let the belly release and the air will come back in on its own.
So try a few slowly with me,
Snap out and release,
Snap out and release,
Snap out and release.
So that's the technique.
We're going to speed it up to about two per second.
Let's place the hands back on the knee and do three rounds.
30 seconds,
45 seconds,
And then a minute with a short rest in between.
Take a natural breath in.
And out.
In,
And begin sharp exhales.
Last 10 seconds.
Breathe in fully,
Hold for a moment at the top.
Let it go.
And breathe naturally.
In our second round,
We're going to do 45 seconds.
Again,
Let's take a natural breath in.
And out.
.
.
Breath in.
And I'll begin.
Keep the face relaxed.
Last 10 seconds.
Full breath in.
.
.
Short hold.
Release.
And breathe normally.
And now we're going to come into our third and final round.
This will be one minute.
Let's take a natural breath in.
And out,
And breath in,
And begin.
Stay with it last 15 seconds.
5 seconds.
Full breath in.
Hold and lift your gaze gently up behind closed eyes toward the point between the eyebrows.
Release.
And let the breath be easy now.
And feel the energy in the body.
Thank you.
You can use this when you need to switch on quickly.
Just a couple of minutes is usually enough to change your state.
Best to keep this to the first half of the day.
And let's gradually,
Slowly open your eyes whenever you feel ready.
