Welcome to this summer solstice meditation.
In the northern hemisphere,
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year,
A day to celebrate and welcome in the light and the start of the summer season.
Summer is the season of light,
Joy and energy and energetically it is a great time to work hard,
Play hard and store all the energy of this season to sustain ourselves during the autumn and winter seasons ahead.
In this meditation we will welcome in the energy of summer to recharge and energize ourselves and fill our bodies,
Minds and souls with light.
Now pause,
Breathe in,
Hold the breath,
Exhale and let's begin.
Taking a deep breath,
Bring your attention to your solar plexus,
The place between your sternum and your navel at the center of your abdomen.
Visualize a bright flame burning here,
It might be a candle,
A roaring fire or any image that feels appropriate for you.
Gaze into the flame,
Feel its light and its warmth at the center of your being,
This is your personal power.
Imagine you are seated outside on a bright summer's day,
Feel the surface beneath you,
The grass of a meadow or warm sand on a beach.
Feel the sun above you radiating its heat and light over your whole body.
Take a deep breath,
Hold this energy inside you for a moment,
Then let go and exhale.
Feel the energy of the sun beam down into your solar plexus,
Igniting the flame and turning up the heat.
Feel this energy filling you up,
Your inner batteries charged by the power of the sun.
As you breathe in,
Take in the warmth and light of the sun.
As you breathe out,
Let this heat and light permeate through you,
Filling your whole body with golden light.
Feel it penetrate deep down through your skin,
Your muscles and deep into your bones.
Continue breathing like this as you stay with this visualization for the next several minutes.
As you breathe in,

Take a deep breath in and hold it at the top.
Feel all the energy you have just cultivated filling your body and exhale with a sigh.
Place one or both hands on your solar plexus to seal in that energy.
Now take a deep breath,
Exhale and step back into your day.
