Hi,

This is Ori Krug,

Board certified dance movement therapist and trauma and relationship expert.

Today,

I would love to guide you through a movement based meditation to help you understand and get clear if you're in the right relationship.

You might be struggling with relationship anxiety that is making you constantly question and doubt and second guess if you should be in your current relationship.

To begin,

You can position yourself sitting up,

Lying down,

Or whatever else feels right to you in this moment.

We're going to start connecting to our bodies by taking two deep breaths,

Breathing in and breathing out.

And again,

Breathing in and breathing out.

And let's take one more deep breath,

Inviting a big stretch with your arms going up and then out.

With your eyes closed or your gaze lowered,

I want you to begin to imagine,

Visualize,

Or feel being this version of yourself that is totally happy,

Confident,

And secure in your relationship,

Even when things aren't exactly as you want them to be.

Even during those moments,

You are still just so at peace,

So settled,

So content within your own skin.

And however you are imagining this right now,

However you might be feeling this in your body,

I want you to invite organic movement into this experience.

So maybe as you visualize this,

You feel a lightness,

Like there's been 10 pounds lifted off your shoulder.

And so you may have the urge to invite some fluid movement,

Some light fluid movement.

Maybe as you visualize this version of yourself,

You visualize that you are standing taller,

Your head is up more,

Your shoulders are back,

And your chest is open.

So maybe with that,

You have the urge to do all of those things and maybe even reach up into your space and reach out.

There is no right or wrong here,

And you can't mess this up.

So just go with your instincts.

Become that version of you that is confident,

Happy,

Settled,

And secure in your relationship.

And if any questions come up about your partner,

Or if the focus goes on to your partner right now,

Just put that aside in this moment and come back to you.

Come back to feeling,

Visualizing,

And moving this version of you that is totally peaceful within yourself and your relationship.

Because this is about you right now.

And as you're moving this version of yourself,

I want you to check in.

Do you really feel this right now?

Do you really believe this?

Do you believe that you are capable of being in and creating and having and enjoying a lasting,

Loving,

Healthy relationship?

Even if you are just getting a taste through movement right now,

If you can feel even just a taste,

Then you know it's possible for you.

And with that confidence,

Imagine your partner standing in the room across from you.

You're still moving.

You're still in this best version of yourself,

Totally confident,

Secure.

Even though things aren't 100% perfect,

Your partner is there,

Joining you in this space.

How does that feel?

Do you still feel capable of being this most confident version of yourself?

Or did something shift once you saw your partner?

I'm guiding you in this way today because most of the time,

When you fall into patterns of picking apart your relationship,

Questioning if your relationship is the right one,

Wondering if you might be better off alone,

A lot of that is truly about you.

It's not about your relationship.

It's about your own belief,

Whether you feel you're capable of having,

Maintaining,

And enjoying a healthy,

Lasting relationship.

And a lot of that gets projected onto your relationship instead of connecting into your body and moving through the doubts and the emotions that come up about yourself.

So my challenge to you is that anytime you have the urge to pick apart your relationship,

To focus on how the littlest things aren't perfect,

Or imagining maybe you'd be better off alone,

Know that you are probably having anxiety and doubts about your own ability to be in this loving relationship,

And that it is in those moments,

It is crucial to connect back to your body and reinstill that trust in yourself,

That you can do this,

You are capable,

And I know you are because you've just experienced a taste of it.

And if you weren't able to experience a taste of it this time around,

I recommend doing this meditation one or two times to try again,

And then if you still can't feel it,

Then you know you have deeper work to do to heal the trauma that is fueling your relationship anxiety.

Whatever your experience was today,

I don't recommend doing this meditation more than three times total,

Because being in that constant questioning of,

Am I in the right relationship or not,

It just continues the cycle of anxiety.

So if you find that you need this meditation over and over again,

Then that's also a strong indication to go ahead and pursue the deeper work to heal the trauma that's fueling your anxiety and your doubts.

Whatever path you choose,

I hope that you know you deserve to be able to let healthy,

Lasting love in,

And you are absolutely capable.

Thank you so much. Helped me shift my perspective and realise that my doubts and negative thoughts come from trauma and are not about my partner.

Thank you! That was great. I've been married to my partner for 24 yrs. I feel I should have left him when he was in active addiction. I would feel guilty to leave him now. He's older. This meditation was good. I'm in therapy for myself. I take full responsability for where im at. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿผโ™ฅ๏ธ

I like the focus on you, not partner; the movement/embodiment; and the affirmations about being deserving and capable. Thank you!

Really good clarifying exercise. Write down some after thoughts and questions so you can return to the confidence without over using the guided questions. Somatically experience your confidence and ground the reality of your power into the bodily level so you can decide to show up the most powerful way possible in all situations. Be well.
