Oneika Mays is a meditation teacher, yoga instructor, and author of Sit With Me: A No BS Journey to Mindfulness and Meditation (HarperOne, 2026) with nearly 15 years of experience helping people find stillness in the middle of real life. She teaches across a range of spaces — from retreat centers like Kripalu to the New York Times offices — and served as the mindfulness coach at Rikers Island, because she believes this practice belongs to everyone. She is also a featured teacher on Yoga International. Oneika is certified in metta, yoga for cancer and chronic illness, trauma-informed yoga, and reiki, and is also a licensed massage therapist. Her approach is warm, approachable, and rooted in lovingkindness. No dogma. Just honest, grounded tools for staying present — especially when it’s messy.
