Good evening and welcome to this bedtime meditation designed to help you drift off to sleep with gratitude in your heart.
My name is Juana and I'm honored to end the day with you.
Let's begin by taking a moment to get settled in.
Go ahead and find yourself a comfortable position on your bed,
Whether that be laying down or sitting up.
Ensure your spine is straight so that you can breathe effortlessly.
I know your mind may be preoccupied with thoughts about your day,
What happened,
Or what is to come tomorrow,
But let those all go for now as you focus on your breath count.
Start to inhale for four seconds and exhale for anything longer than four seconds,
Whatever feels good to you.
So follow me,
Breathe in through your nose for one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And breathe out through your nose for longer than four seconds.
Continue on your own.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Allow your body to fully relax from head to toe.
Let go of any tension you may be holding on to by imagining that you are breathing white light right into that area of unease.
Now take these next few moments to soak into the comfort of your mattress,
The warmth of your blanket,
And the support of your pillow.
Give appreciation for the bed that you are sleeping on,
And while you are at it,
Think about three or more things that you are thankful for that transpired today.
No matter how big or how small,
The fact that you are alive and breathing is a miracle in and of itself.
Now what other miracles can you be grateful for?
Was there a special moment that comes to mind?
Perhaps a smile or an embrace?
Maybe even something funny you experienced?
Go ahead and give thanks for it.
You're alive.
You get the good fortune of being here in this time and space having this unique human experience.
You are living on a planet like no other in our ever-expanding universe.
What an absolute miracle.
What else are you grateful for?
Let that feeling of gratitude for another day on this beautiful journey we call life envelop your entire body.
I know you end the day is how you begin it as well,
So be sure to make it a habit to fall asleep with gratitude in your heart so you wake up feeling happy and refreshed.
Affirm after me,
Really feeling into every word you silently repeat to yourself.
I am so thankful for another day.
I am feeling very calm and relaxed.
I am going to fall asleep easily and deeply.
I am excited for a beautiful morning tomorrow.
I am waking up rejuvenated and well rested.
And so it is.
This concludes our night meditation.
