Hello and welcome to this meditation to help you learn to release attachments.
My name is Juana and I am honored to be letting go with you today.
Let's take a dip in the ocean,
Shall we?
To prepare,
Lay yourself flat on a surface of your choosing,
Whether that be a yoga mat on the floor,
A bed,
Or a couch.
Seated upright is perfectly fine too if you need.
Whatever works best for you in this present moment.
Close your eyes and gently breathe in through your nose,
Mouth closed,
For a count of 6 seconds.
You don't need to fill your lungs too full of air.
Now exhale for 6 seconds,
Allowing your breath to leave your body slowly and gently without forcing it.
We will do it together twice,
And then I'll leave you to it for a few rounds.
So breathe in 2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Breathe out 2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
In 2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Out 2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
On your own now.
As you continue with this same relaxing breathing pattern,
I'd like you to imagine that you're sitting on a beach,
Watching the ocean waves go in and out.
Each 6 second inhale as a wave coming into shore,
And each 6 second exhale as a wave contracting back out.
Feel your belly expanding and retracting with every breath,
Just like a wave going in and out.
Allow yourself to enter into an even deeper and deeper state of relaxation as you move into a breathing pattern that is calming for you.
Take a moment to notice how peaceful and grounded you feel.
When you're ready to leave the comfort of the shore,
Go ahead and make your first few steps into the ocean.
Feel the soothing feeling of the wet sand beneath your toes,
Waves crashing lovingly at your feet.
If you ever feel worried or afraid,
Just glance back at the shore where you will see your friends and family lovingly supporting and watching you from afar.
You are completely safe and guided here.
Now what are you waiting for?
Playfully take the plunge in,
Diving underneath the surf and resurfacing on the other side of it.
Swim out of it,
And when you feel far yet safe enough from the coast,
Lay on your back and allow the ocean to carry you.
Notice the sky so strikingly blue and white above you,
The sun shining and smiling back at you.
Enjoy this moment,
Really soak it in.
As you float peacefully in the ocean,
Imagine things,
People,
Places,
Even ideas in your life floating your way.
If they come your way,
Allow them to come,
But don't attach to them.
If they have to float away,
Let them go.
Allow it to come,
And let it leave.
If you try to cling to anything,
You'll sink.
Instead,
If you simply allow whatever may come,
And allow it to go whenever it may,
You'll notice that with or without,
You are completely fine.
You can enjoy it while it lasts,
And be perfectly alright after it leaves.
So allow it to come,
And let it leave.
And if it has to leave,
Trust that soon enough,
Something else will come your way,
Just like you trust the sun to return each day.
Often times in life we grasp onto things,
Fearful of abandonment,
Afraid people will leave us,
Wanting to latch on for a perceived safety.
So that's why you're here in this water,
To do the work you need to do to learn to release.
You needn't hold onto things for the sake of security,
Because as you can see,
You're perfectly fine floating in the ocean of life,
Allowing all the waves,
People,
Places and things of life to come and go.
Imagine whatever you are clinging onto in your own life come and go,
Like all the waves around you.
Repeat silently to yourself,
Really taking in the impact of these words,
As the shore takes in the powerful impact of the waves,
I can easily let it all come and go.
I release the need to cling to people,
Places and things.
I allow all that doesn't serve me to float away.
I trust that everything in my life stays as long as it should.
Everything comes and leaves in perfect timing.
I allow things to leave when they want to.
I am enough as I am.
I am centered in me.
And so it is.
Allow your body to gracefully float back to shore.
Sense your earth to ground connection,
Bringing you to the here and now.
Wiggle your fingers,
Then your toes,
And slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me in the water,
The ocean can really teach us so much.
Return to this meditation anytime you need to let go,
It's always here for you.
As always,
Let me know how your journey went,
And follow along for more to come.
It's been a pleasure floating with you.
