Kurukulla is the moon goddess of enchantment. She is an aspect of Kali. This yoga nidra can be practiced any time, but, it is especially beneficial when practiced on Kurukulla's moon night, 4 nights after than full moon. The yoga nidra begins and ends with this poem by Ramprasad. "You think you understand the Goddess? Even philosophers can not explain her. The scriptures say that she, herself, is the essence of us all. It is she, herself, who brings life through her sweet will..."

Yoga nidra for korokula Prepare for the practice of yoga nidra by lying on your back in shavasana.

If shavasana doesn't seem appropriate,

You can sit on the floor,

Perhaps with your back against the wall,

Or sit on a chair.

Choose whatever position seems appropriate for today's meditation.

Choose a comfortable position that you can maintain for the whole practice.

Ideally the body will be still and steady throughout.

Once you have chosen a position,

Make any adjustments that will help the body be comfortable and not need to move.

And begin to relax physically and mentally.

And I'd like to read a poem to you from Ram Prasad.

He was a Bengali mystic and he has beautiful poems to Kali in all her forms and aspects.

You think you understand the goddess?

Even philosophers cannot explain her.

The scriptures say that she herself is the essence of all of us.

It is she herself who brings life through her sweet will.

You think you understand her?

I can only smile.

You think you can truly know her?

I can only laugh.

But what our minds accept,

Our hearts do not.

Ants try to grasp the moon,

We the goddess.

Ants try to grasp the moon,

We the goddess.

Ram Prasad,

Zen.

Tonight's yoga nidra focuses on the goddess Kuru Kula.

The moon is the waning gibbous moon and Kuru Kula is the nidra,

The lunar goddess of enchantment.

The gibbous moon is the time to refine,

Rephrase and adjust or edit our intentions.

And there's no need to worry because realizing our limitations or changing our minds can be a good thing.

So let's chant to her.

Let's call her in.

Om Kuru Kula Ye Namaha.

Om Kuru Kula Ye Namaha.

Om Kuru Kula Ye Namaha.

Begin to be aware of the whole body structure,

Connect to the shape and form of the body,

Connect to the physical outer space of the body,

The skin,

The outer form,

And then move inward and internalize and become aware of the inner space and the inner form.

And begin breathing in and out of the nose,

Making an oceanic sound.

Known in yoga is Ujjayi.

And if it's in your practice and you know it,

You can practice Ujjayi with Kecchiri Mudra.

And connect into the inner spaces in the body.

Bring the awareness to Mooladhara Chakra at the base of the spine.

And notice any energy there.

And we'll begin to trace or follow Pingala Nadi.

It starts at Mooladhara Chakra at the base of the spine.

And from there it goes out to the right.

And the mind's eye see the energy starting at Mooladhara Chakra and moving to the right.

And then it curves back to cross through the pelvis and through Swadhisthana.

And then with the curve to the left,

It comes up to Manipura and the solar plexus.

With the curve to the right,

It reaches the heart center,

Anahata.

And with the curve to the left,

It meets Vishuddhi at the throat chakra.

And with the curve to the right,

It joins Ajna Chakra at the eyebrow center.

And from Ajna,

Bring the consciousness straight down to Mooladhara via the Shashumna Nadi.

And on an inhalation,

Start to awaken Prana within the body.

Breathing in and out of the nose using Ujjayi Pranayama,

Take long deep breaths and feel the Ujjayi breath drawing the Prana up to Ajna.

Using Ujjayi Pranayama,

Inhale through Mooladhara,

Swadhisthana,

Manipura,

Anahata,

Vishuddhi,

Ajna.

Exhale,

Go straight down Mooladhara via the Shashumna on your Ujjayi exhalation.

And do this practice repeatedly.

Swami Satchidananda says,

Although the Prana travels up to Ajna during inhalation,

Only the awareness,

Not the Prana,

Travels back down to Mooladhara during the exhalation.

The energy travels up,

But only the awareness travels down.

Each time the awareness reaches Ajna,

The third eye,

Maintain the awareness there for several seconds and hold the breath.

And be aware of the increasing pranic energy held there at the eyebrow center.

And perhaps you experience it as bright light.

Perhaps you experience streaks of light shooting up to accumulate at Ajna,

Bringing only the awareness back through Shashumna.

Practice this for three minutes.

Windows remove.

You you you you you And now that you've collected the prana at ajna in the form of light energy and In order to maintain your energy balance once the practice is over the prana must be properly returns to its original source at the base of the spine Use the powers of concentration and synchronize the movement with the breath Focusing the attention at Ajna and flow down Shushumna Nadi with the Ujjayi exhalation Carry the prana back to its source at the base of the spine Muladhara At Muladhara hold the breath for a few moments as you deposit the prana and Then simply raise the awareness to Ajna as you inhale without carrying any prana and With each breath you are returning prana to Muladhara to the base of the spine remain alert and continue the practice with full concentration for one minute you you and now come back to natural breathing and and Bring the awareness to the Chitakas the mind space in front of the closed eyes and In that space see her there Cora Kula She is black fierce and naked with disheveled hair She wears a garland of skulls around her neck She's seated on a corpse and in her hand she holds a skull Scissors a cleaver and a shield She is a goddess associated with bewitchment and enchantment And look to her this lunar goddess Cora Kula She can help you be noticed She creates conditions where you're likely to attract others She creates conditions where you're likely to attract others With her aid she helps you to get hired or promoted She's a generator of passion,

But conversely can help you balance your passions and emotions and even less So tonight Tonight is the night to ask for Cora Kula's aid and Attracting the people are things that bring you pleasure Ask yourself Where do I need to find more freedom or?

Fierceness or liberation in my life What can I let go of How can I cultivate my wild side And Lastly are there parts of my life that are out of control that need to be contained or aligned Look to Cora Kula This fierce goddess She can protect us with her shielding presence as she removes all obstacles either carefully or dramatically Om Cora Kula ye Namaha Om Cora Kula ye Namaha Om Cora Kula ye Namaha See her dissipate Into the waning gibbous moon Her light merges with the light of the waning gibbous moon And Know that even though she's gone now You can talk to her tonight before you go to bed Or next month four nights after the full moon I honor my magnetism I honor my Connect back to the breath And repeat her affirmation three times I Honor my magnetism I honor my magnetism I honor my magnetism And Once again become aware of the normal breath Connect to any tastes in the mouth Any sense in the nose Any moisture in the eyes And notice all the points of contact between the body and the floor Become aware of your surroundings Remember what day it is Remember what time it is Mentally visualize the room around you or wherever you're practicing And Focus on your breathing for a few minutes You And Now come back into your physical body And say to yourself mentally the practice of yoga nidra for korokula is now complete Gradually begin to move the body and slowly open your eyes Roll over on your right side in a fetal position Roll over on your right side in a fetal position And gently push yourself up to seated Rub the hands together Making a warmth And then place them against the closed eyes practicing palming Release the hands and gently open the eyes And I'll read the poem once more You think you understand the goddess Even for the first time You think you understand the goddess And you think you understand the goddess And you think you understand the goddess Even philosophers cannot explain her The scriptures say that she herself is the essence of all of us It is she herself who brings life through her sweet will You think you understand her I can only smile you think that you can truly know her I can only laugh But what our minds accept our hearts do not Ants try to grasp the moon we the goddess We grasp the moon we the goddess Pariyam tatsats.

I am not sure this meditation is for everyone, but it is what I needed right now. it helps to have at least a,l slight familiarity with Kurukulla before undertaking this journey. For me, this meditation took me back to the point of origin of my spiritual maturation. It was a most welcome experience.
