It's time to meditate the grumpies away with the adventures of Super Stretch.
I'm Super Stretch.
My friends and I live at 247 Mindful Pathway.
It's our mission to make balance a part of your day because you are a superstar even when you don't feel okay.
The meditation we're gonna do offers you a way to let go of bad feelings in your mind so you can relax.
We're gonna dig into our super kit and tap into our life force.
Let go of stress and anxiety by creating fun tools to see in a new way and find freedom from fear to enjoy life's ever-changing adventures.
Come on friends,
Let's join in the meditation with the Super Stretch team to discover how to make Breathe Stretch play a part of every day.
But before we start,
Remember it may be hard at first to teach your body and mind to let go and relax.
It will get easier to stop for a minute,
Pay attention to your breath,
And feel what's going on inside of you.
We don't need to push anything.
There's always gonna be room for improvement and growth.
So take a breath,
Calm your mind,
And step forward.
For this practice you can be sitting up in Lotus Flower Pose or lay down.
Begin to feel a big smile wash over your face and take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Let's try that again.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Don't forget to put on your listening ears.
There is no place to go,
No job to do.
You are just breathing.
Did you know that one of the best ways to be calm is to breathe?
And one of Super Stretch's favorite breathing practices is to pretend to drink a hot mug of cocoa with his friend the polar bear.
The polar bear gets really grumpy.
Grrr.
Do you ever get grumpy?
And how does that make you feel?
Yucky,
Right?
Well Super Stretch invited the polar bear to the tree fort at 247 Mindful Pathway to teach him how to breathe deeply.
Let all the sad crabby feelings go.
Let's join them to find calm and have some yummy cocoa.
Imagine you're grabbing a big huge mug,
Your favorite color from the cupboard.
What color is it?
Grab a packet of cocoa,
Tear it open,
And pour the cocoa mix into your mug.
Very carefully reach for the hot water from the pretend kettle.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Slowly fill up your cup.
Stir it up with a spoon.
Swish swish.
As you watch your thoughts settle in your mind,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Feel the happiness as your body gets more and more relaxed.
Now for the best part,
The marshmallows.
Pour tons of them on top of the mug of hot cocoa and watch them float on the surface.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Then the polar bear is in a rush and tries to take a sip but oh it's way too hot.
So Super Stretch shows them how to blow it off to cool it down.
You take a deep breath in through the nose and blow out as slowly as you think you can,
Almost to the count of five.
Like this.
Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth to the count of one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Mmm.
Imagine how sweet the hot cocoa smells.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Can you try?
Now take a tiny sip of the cocoa.
Is it cool enough?
Breathe in through the nose.
Breathe out through the mouth.
Ah polar bear was patient and now takes a sip.
It is so good.
He can feel the warmth through his whole body.
Mmm.
And he feels calm inside.
How do you feel now?
Relaxed?
As you breathe into your toes.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Your toes start to tickle.
Peaceful as you fill up your mind with the sweetness of cocoa.
Breathe in the sweetness and breathe out the sweetness.
Happy as your whole body smiles?
Breathe in and breathe out a big huge smile.
Super stretch says to his friend the polar bear when we pay attention and focus our minds on something as simple as having hot cocoa.
It can make us feel so good and relaxed that we release all of the grumpy feelings.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
