This is a Nididhyāsana (Sanskrit: निदिध्यासन) practice. Nididhyasana is a profound meditation on the nature of the true self, to realize the identity of Atman and Brahman (Microcosm and Macrocosm). In simple terms 'I' and 'universe' are shown to be one. In jnana yoga or yoga of wisdom, this is given utmost importance.
