This is the curiosity technique,
The hum technique.
And what this does,
This practice,
This song practice,
It helps you to connect into your power center,
Your core and your pelvic floor as a support to your breath and to your voice.
And what this does is it makes singing so much easier,
Speaking so much easier.
And that's kind of the logic behind it,
The logical side.
And then the energetic,
Spiritual,
Creative side is that it just feels so good.
You feel that freedom in your body,
That you have all this power and you have all this capacity to express.
And it's a really,
It can be almost sensual,
The experience of doing this.
Sound.
So what we're doing is we're inhaling and exhaling through the nose and we're making this sound.
So what we get to do is make this curious hum,
Like choosing between two options,
I like to say.
Do I want this option or this option?
Do I want chocolate ice cream or vanilla?
And you can lengthen it out as well.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Or it can be short.
Hmm.
It can be like an affirmation.
And just keeping the mouth closed and really exploring what it is to sound through the nose.
And this vibrates your whole being.
It's kind of like the Brahmari breath in yoga if you've done that before.
It's like this humming.
It vibrates your brain.
It does all these good things for you.
Let's just get into it,
And I'm going to play some music,
And we'll just kind of go for a couple minutes here exploring it.
Take breaks when you feel like it.
I might give you some prompts and encouragement along the way,
And just enjoy being in your body.
And if you have questions,
You can ask,
And we can talk about it afterwards.
Let it in life in you.
Power in your body.
Feel the breath come in and fill you Let it move.
A body And I open.
And I invite you to open into a vowel sound.
You can go back and forth between humming and vocalizing and just feel the power in your body.
I feel free Ah,
Ah,
Ah,
Ah
